This is so beautifully heartfelt, inspiring and what Superman/Wonder Woman truly represents. It's way more than just shipping. A lot of the fans have personal stories as to why they gravitate toward Superman/Wonder Woman. This fandom has so much representation of diversity, equality, and inspiration. I have seen so many photo shoots, SuperWonder themed, from weddings to maternities, baby showers, birthday parties and so much more.
Rebirth has changed nothing, especially with DC continuing to use this pair for merchandising, advertisements etc. still even now. Volume 1 still being featured in recommendations( and being released in other countries), the romance is still mentioned within character history in their encyclopedias or even articles and magazines (Wonder Woman's 75 celebration) , Gaultier, hot topic...there's even a SuperWonder women's pajama set. Fandom social net sites like Instagram and tumblr have well over 44k and 22k followers respectively increasing daily.
What was spitefully written in Rebirth against new52 and SMWW holds no weight when beautiful things like this in the real world is what truly matters. While having Superman/Wonder Woman in new52 comics was great (with Soule/Daniel) and everything it has brought, comics don't define this fandom and never have. It clearly shows it goes beyond and is beyond comics. "Traditional" ways are a safety net and easier to keep up while it was said trying to balance SMWW was difficult. That says a lot more about their lack of and lazy creativity than the pair. I value that the fans of this pair accepted that challenge being creative themselves and again what SMWW inspires in general on a day to day basis.
Also, love that Tony Daniel still acknowledges SMWW as the Power Couple

That's for Dumbduck, wherever he is. He liked this kind of math...

Nice post. Yeah, despite most SM/WW fans are abandoning the CBR forum in the last year for various reasons, the fanbase keeps growing. The SM/WW insta and tumblr got 20x more followers in the past 4 years and just before the summer there were about 100 new followers every day on the SM/WW insta. There's also much more SM/WW material being produced (official and not) than 5/10 years ago.
And, yes, I absolutely agree that the pairing goes beyond comics and "shipping".
