    Elseworlds part 2...

While the post-COIE versions of Superman and Wonder Woman have remained friends with some unresolved feelings after a failed attempt to pursue a relationship, their counterparts from the hypothetical future depicted in Kingdom Come (1996) become a couple at the end of their character arcs and conceive a child, symbol of a new beginning and better future.

Much could be said about KC and the influence it has had, like elevating Diana to a major player in the DCU along with SM and BM (hence the Trinity concept that DC started pushing years later) but I digress.

In the post-Apocalyptic future of Superman: Distant Fires (1998), the powerless Diana and Clark found each other, marrying and their son ends up being the last survivor of a dying world.

I think Waid got a little overboard into depicting the new beginning represented by the birth of Diana and Clark's child in The Kingdom (1999), sort of follow-up to KC and introduction of the Hypertime, a "reality" where SM/WW's son will have the power to travel into.

I wasn't sure if to include the Elseworlds were Clark and Lex end up being the last men on Earth (JLA: Created Equal), because I didn't recall anything romantic between SM/WW in it, just their good ol' friendship. But I could imagine them eventually bonding romantically over playing mom and dad to Luthor's children. Better than keep always talking.

In the weird JLA: Act of God (2001), after all the superheroes have lost their powers and felt useless, Clark and Diana's love for each other helps them overcome depression, alcoholism and suicidal tendencies (Tom King would love this book, lol).
At the end, they had a son who is the first super-powered being of the new generation.

Other than their children being the future and their relationship being a result of a new-found hope, another commonality of these Elseworlds is that, when they got together, they're just Clark and Diana, no more Superman and Wonder Woman.

    To be continued...

I suppose being married to the queen/princess of Themyscira has its advantages

These are Jor-El and Lara and their children not SM/WW.

Well that's unfortunate. Definitely could pass for Diana and Kal.

Also, Isn't Lara blonde? And wasn't Kal-el the only child?

Yeah, Lara's look can be misleading.

It's an Elseworlds were Jor-El and Lara came on Earth too. They had other children there.
