New Avengers 28 *spoilers*

Moves and Countermoves:

Following the last Avengers Issue, Sunspot and his Avengers try to force Steve to back down, to which he replies with dropping the alternate universe Hulk on the Illuminati.

Sunspot responds by sending his army of Shang Chis in while Eden takes Natasha and Jessica to try to talk to Steve again. Carol gets back from orbit and Steve heads for the battlefield with his Secret Avengers: including a huge trump card in my mind in the Blue Marvel.

Reed continues to narrate to Valeria about planning a strategy and how this scenario is perfect for teaching because he gets Steve to commit his final player when he commits his: Susan comes out and boxes everyone out, followed out by Medusa.

It ends with Reed saying that when the enemy thinks they know what is coming show them that they don't, as Namor and Black Bolt walk out as well.

I really liked this issue and can't wait for the next part of Time Runs Out.

He's smarter than Steve (or anyone else in the world for that matter) so you can make the arguement he is I suppose.

Though I think getting the better of Steve in this one showing doesn't necessarily topple Steve and place Reed at the top of the mountain.

It's a bit confusing for Reed to say that Mighty Avengers are Steve's secret Avengers, but I think it's not saying that Mighty Avengers = (Maria Hill's) Secret Avengers.

It's a bit confusing for Reed to say that Mighty Avengers are Steve's secret Avengers, but I think it's not saying that Mighty Avengers = (Maria Hill's) Secret Avengers.

The thing is, I don't think any of the actual Avenger teams use the adjectives on the title of the books . To Cage they're not the Mighty Avengers... they're just the Avengers.

So in this case it was simply calling them the secret Avengers because they were supposed to be a secret. Though a pretty obvious one in hindsight.

I'm a MCU movie-goer, but I think after reading digital comics for two days I got a good handle on who's who:

(6) Maria Hill's Secret Avengers

(11) Tyrant Avengers extracted by AIM
(12) Pym's AI Avengers

IIRC Hank Pym only gives the graduates (senior students) Avengers status at Avengers Academy, and half of them are killed off later. Moral of story: don't follow Pym, that guy's a disaster.
