It was already revealed in an interview by Quesada IIRC that Magneto had his head chopped off and that Magneto in Genosha was a construct created by Wanda. However that all came after. Magneto was always meant to be Xorn there were several hints in Morrisons X-Men. After Austen screwed with it Xorn may have then been an identity Magneto assumed of an actual mutant later on. But in Planet X that was Magneto.

Because no one confronted the issue. Beast said it was Magneto who killed Jean in X-Men Legacy. So did Nick Fury in Astonishing X-Men. They forgave Xavier for committing xenocide in X-Men and the Micronauts. They forgave Jean Grey's fractured soul for eating a solar system.

We had an entire thread about in the old CBR. Too bad it's gone. It had documented panels and issue numbers.

Do you think the current Magneto was a construct Wanda created in order to make the loving dad she always wanted and never had? The one who pretended to be Xorn was the original Magneto who remained a tyrant, but went over-the-top crazy from the kick drug. It would appear the post-Magneto was much more caring and not as extreme as he was before. All of that sounds like a more logical explanation to the ridiculous Xorn twin brother retcon.

Yep, as that is what Dr. Strange suggested in House of M too.

The Nick Fury line doesn't prove anything since Xorn was literally posing as Magneto.

There's more proof that Xorn and Magneto are two separate people(New Avengers, Excalibur, Uncanny X-Men 534.1, etc) than there is to support that they are the same but until a writer delivers a solid answer, they'll always be debate.

Actually Uncanny X-Men 534.1 "If I did it" line could be taken both ways. Particularly if he recently stated he's not sure what he did and that it's all a blur. And X-Factor 22 and X-Force Annual 2009 are newer retcons then Excalibur. BTW New Avengers v1 20 got retconned by the writer who wrote that.



And there are actually more issues suggesting that they are the same person rather then different people if you count New X-Men, Astonishing X-Men, X-Factor 22, X-Force Annual 2009, then both issues of Uncanny X-Men.
