Apparently, The Chitauri are an alien race from The Ultimates, who are the ultimate universe's version of the skrulls. So basically the Ultimate Skrulls have already appeared in the MCU. What makes this story even stranger is that the Chitauri have now appeared in 616, in an issue of Nova, as a completely seperate alien species.

I know the chitauri started out as the Ultimate universe skrulls, but by this point it seems they've pretty much become their own separate species.
I am very disappointed because it looks like even if we got the skrulls in a movie (which we won't apparently), we won't get the Super-Skrull who is my favorite Marvel character.
Eh, maybe it's for the better... what if they make a version of the skrulls that I don't like...
