What do you guys think of novels by known comic book writers? I have to admit I've only read a few Gaiman, Joe Hill and Mieville novels but haven't read any others. Whose novels and comics do you read and which ones are better?

Mike Carey's Felix Castor novels are great. I haven't read his new novel but the short story is was expanded from is very good.
G. Willow Wilson's Alif The Unseen is amazing.
I've never actually read his comics, but Alex Grecian's Scotland Yard Murder Squad novels are good.
You mean novels that aren't novelizations of comic books, right?
Gaiman's work is excellent, particularly his short stories.
Peter David's written some funny sf and fantasy novels.

for the most part PAD's novels are fantastic.
even his Star Trek books (and he's written a lot of them, including an entire "New Frontier" universe) are quite good.
John Byrne's prose Novels are pretty good (in particular "Whipping Boy" and his "Wonder Woman" novel).

Most of Michael Moorcock's comics are worth reading. He definitely knows how to pick collaborators-- Chaykin, Simonson, etc.
Don McGregor's books are very much a picture of their time, but also very, very interesting speculative fiction. I'd recommend The Variable Strain, but it can be tough in places.
