It's just dumb to have her unemployed. That's Cyclops's thing. It's redundant.
I don't think Emma qualifies as a feminist just because she's a woman. In fact she's pretty much the picture of the wicked harlot that any anti-feminist would point to when arguing why women shouldn't be allowed to hold any power. That doesn't mean she can't be a fun character, but she's certainly not a role model for anyone.
But when Emma Frost entered into a relationship with Scott 'bread and butter sandwich" Summers, she ceased to be her own character. He drains the individuality of any woman he is with like some kind of plot vampire.
Also Emma is not a feminist icon. She's like the anti-role model. That's her schtick.

Cyborg is a Leaguer forever, not a Titan"There are two main times when comic book fans gripe: When something changes and when something stays the same."
Exactly. He's only held two jobs, one working for Lee Forrestor and one for Maddie Pryor. Both times, he worked for an issue before sleeping with his boss and then went to being supported by her. With Emma, it was worse. She sold her company to fund his survivalist cult.
It's the same with with Storm and T'Challa. Storms greatest achievement to date is dumping his ass. Also it's Marvel comics I can count the number of role models on one hand.
Emma is actually the anti-Claremazon. Which is why Claremont hates her so much despite creating her. She's like Atum but for Claremazons.
At least Storm was able to support herself on the streets. Cyclops lived in a cushy orphanage.
Isn't she a fugitive on the run from the law? I don't think she can't have any decent job until she somehow clears her situation.
Are Storm and Emma feminist icons? Storm at least was one of the first superteam leaders in comic history, but Emma, why is she a feminist icon? She treated women quite horribly as a supervillain, helping male villains to rape superheroines with her telepathy, she used low tricks to break Jean and Scott's marriage, and from that point she became a trophy wife and an accesory for Cyclops.

There are positive and negatives to pretty much every single Marvel character. In terms of role models it'd have to be one of the newly created Marvel Characters like Ms. Marvel or Nova who who haven't been tainted yet.
Most Marvel characters are designed purposely to have flaws though. So instead of looking for role models you look for positive and negative personality traits however, given how poor continuity is these days every character is everything.
A start in the write direction would be panel space. Bendis is making the same mistake with Uncanny X-Men as Aaron did in WATXM. The Xavier kids need to be killed off or moved to a different book. Or give Emma to a different writer.
I honestly dont know what they're thinking by making this character live in the wilderness of Manitoba, where, with Marvel time, it's going to be winter forever.
Is his fault that she is a fugitive, without him she would be an inmate, which, IMO would be worse, and what she did with the Phoenix (the reason why she went to jail in the first place) was not related to Scott, in fact she started doing fucked up stuff even before they started losing control over the Phoenix, like sending Namor to attack Wakanda
And Cyclops didn't force Emma into doing anything, everything she is doing she is doing it on her own free will, and, even if it's now shown, what she is doing leading the school, is quite important
