I also own the book 'Crusades' published by Humanoids. I haven't read it yet but it looks pretty good.

Colossal Conan is indeed a very good choice. Other good long running S&S series are Warlord by Mike Grell and the European serie Thorgal. Both have amazing art. The recent Elric comic is also good.

But that Conan collection is getting very high price now, used to be around 50-60 quid, now it's 100 pounds.

Slaine: The Horned God is the standard. That's a must.

I don't want to spoil anything, but the book takes a very strange turn towards the end. It's very good with some great art, but... well, you'll see what I mean when you read it. I'm curious to hear what you think of it once you've read it.

Titan's been doing some great reprints of The Third Testmanent, which is somewhat similiar to The Crusades, but better, in my opinion. And their reprints of the Blondel Elric series are not to be missed.

I don't know if it's exactly what your looking for but there's a very funny parody of D&D style tabletop games called "The order of the Stick"
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Order_of_the_Stick
If your quite familiar with tabletop games you'll probably get more out of it then someone like me who's never played D&D. It's filled with injokes and gags about the different versions of the game etc.
I think there's about 7 trades out but it is a webcomic so you can read some issues there before buying if you want:
