Inspired by Existentializzy, a Namor fan with lovely wit and observations, who celebrated Namor's 70th anniversary with an image a day on her tumblr, I'll be doing the same, but with covers. Covers from NINE decades of Namor's storied history -- so 365 covers!

Marvel Mystery Comics #4

This was the first Timely cover to feature Namor. Comics were usually dated two months before they hit the news stand, so this issue probably debuted in December 1939. I believe it's the first Timely cover to feature their characters fighting Nazis, long before the US entered WWII.

Namor was in a few other titles in 2000s, but this is the first of the new century where he's featured on the cover. This issue had Susan Storm, obviously, but it also saw the return of one my favorite of Namor's ladies, Dorma -- though an alternate version of the lady.

Finally we get a cover that fits Wednesday's description better. Though, TBH, didn't find much of John Bryne's run to be that 'wild.' His was the most sedate Namor ever -- except maybe Bill Everett's Atlas run.
