I think I'm gonna join the game since I started to read and buy again (had a bit of a lifestyle change and fell out of the buying-reading habit but with the end of January, I'm back).
Kudos to Radjack for the idea.

Question: How should I count Morrison's Zenith? Phase one counts as 1?

Other than that my 2015 so far:
    Enigma 1-8
    Batman Black Mirror (D.C. 871-881)
    Tintin in Tibet
    Sandman 38-46
    All Star Superman 1-12

    Total: 41

(oh yeah, and I'm only gonna count the things that I actually buy...because sometimes I read stuff....buy other means)

I think one Zenith Phase counts as 4 issues. And Tintin counts as 2?

If we go by page count, then Zenith should be 4 yeah.
The original rules by Redjack says: "One OGN equals 1 comic. Same goes for European Comics or Manga volumes."
The 64 page Tintin book is one story, just like an OGN, so I would count it as 1. But Zenith has like 10 or 12 8 page issues so ....?

I count the total page number and divided it by 22, hence it's easier for me (and gives me the chance to reach 1000)

That's useful; some TPBs I'm planning to read contain a lot of backup stories. If I'm reading "Origin of the Inhumans", and I'm not going to count that I read Thor 146 (I didn't; I read the 3-4 page backup feature of it). So a bunch of those backups, roughly 22-24 pages in length, is one issue.

alright, after some thinking I think european stuf like Tintin or Asterix could count as multiple issues because of the amount of pages and panels on the pages (and actual story that happens on those pages). So with that in mind my current count is 50 now. (I'm gonna update weekly or after every 20-30 issues, or something like that. maybe so I can keep track myself).

Been very slack in my comic reading lately, getting engrossed in John Grisham books. Anyone got any comic recommendations of a similar legal/political nature?

Anyway read Secret Warriors Omnibus, a couple of issues of Absolute All Star Superman and the first ten issues of Fear Agent Library edition v1. About 40 issues.

Yeah, I've been reading a lot of 10 page back-up stories too. Typically as they are 10 pages, I count two of them as One issue, and I display them on my list as one issue. For example:
    Gauntlet Origins:Kraven/The Kraven Saga
Anyway, I've been trying to read more Ultimate books recently, so I bought Ultimate FF, and have started reading that:
    Superior Foes of Spider-Man #1
    Ultimate FF #1
    Ultimate FF #2
