"I should describe my known nature as tripartite, my interests consisting of three parallel and disassociated groups; a) love of the strange and the fantastic, b) love of abstract truth and scientific logic, c) love of the ancient and the permanent. Sundry combinations of these strains will probably account for my...odd tastes, and eccentricities."
Which in and of itself is just plain sad. The movies are adaptions of the comics not the other way around. And while Guardians and the Guardian solos are selling right now, can those kinds of things be kept up anywhere near as long term as comics such as the Avengers, X-Men or Spider-Man have? It's Marvel playing the long game I know but at the same time, they're putting the gamble of throwing things at the wall to see what sticks (usually coinciding with the movies) rather than just trying to tell good stories.
I think it's safe to say that Marvel better officially confirms the X-Men will not be cancelled or minimized. As long as they do not do this, no X-fan is ever gonna buy any Inhumans series.
However, if they confirm the X-men will continue to remain the big focus of Marvel Comics and perhaps let the Inhumans have a crossover one time with the X-Men, then the Inhumans series might stand a chance.

This isn't fair to the fans of other franchises.
X-men isn't the only major Marvel franchise and for fans to suggest other franchises should "die" is flat out wrong.
The X-men aren't being minimized. Marvel is putting their top creators on the X-books and are pushing one event after the other on the titles. I mean, the X-men is one of Marvel's top sellers but they certainly aren't as popular in the general public like they once were.
If the X-men aren't as exposed as they were in popular media, I would suggest that Fox make X-movies that hit public awareness like Guardians of the Galaxy or Iron Man.
Not really. None of the Nuhumans have been particularly memorable aside from the cop dude and his stereotypically fridged partner. Fire dude is boring, rock dude is whiny, flying lizard girl is forgettable, chick with the blue gunk on her face looks like she did a porno with a smurf
Triton and Gorgon have done nothing in the book. Karnak is dead. Crystal, Luna and Ahura haven't even shown up. The Unspoken and Lash were really boring villains.
All in all it's a pretty disappointing output from Soule
I think you're missing my point. Since there are rumors for quite some time now that Marvel is planning to do something about the X-Men and FF the fans are unhappy. Now it is rumored Marvel want to put Inhumans to the front and replace the X-Men. That's why X-fans will probably not buy it, as a protest.
That is why I said Marvel better confirms soon that that ain't gonna happen. But so far marvel doesn't do that, which makes X-fans upset.

I've been a fan of the inhumans for a long time. Have a lot of their FF issues, I have the 1998, 2000, 2003 series as well as the Kings stuff. I didn't get the current series because it looked like it was broken from the start and it stunk of trying to turn the inhumans into something they were not. Has this been the case? Does the current Inhuman title focus on the issues of social conformity and genetic tinkering that was always the staple of the characters? Have the alpha primitives appeared? What has been the theme of that book?
I think Soule does a good job with the Inhumans, but all of these stunts for Marvel soured me on the whole thing so I dropped the first title and I have no plans of picking up this one.
X-fans have a right to not buy the Inhuman books, if they feel the X-men are being marginalised though. That's their right.
I guess we will just have to agree to disagree because launching a new franchise doesn't mean another one is being put down. Particularly when said franchise has Marvel's biggest creator (Bendis) at the helm.
It's kind of crazy that X-readers fear mutants being marginalized when there are still so many mutant-centric books being published.
