    Default Awesome Agent Carter

Fifteen minutes into AGENT CARTER, and I find it ten times better than AGENTS OF SHIELD. I love it!

Snappy dialog, great characters, some cool easter eggs for the movies and the comics, and a plot that moves along smartly with plenty of surprises.

    Jarvis and Carter shine brilliantly!

It's good. They do seem to be heavy handed with how sexist the time period is. I like hearing Haley Atwell do an American accent. It seems strange to cast James Frain (Franklin mott from true blood and Oliver Cromwell on the Tudors) and have him not be able to talk. I like the inclusion of Roxcon Oil

Episode 1 "Now Is Not The End" I liked that they used a few scenes from Captain America The First Avenger. Glad to see Dominic Cooper return as Howard Stark. I thought the casting was fantastic; James Frain, Shea Whigham from Boardwalk Empire, Andre Royo from The Wire, James Urbaniak from The Venture Bros and Kevin Heffernan from Broken Lizard even has a brief cameo. James D'Arcy wasn't too bad as Jarvis. Hayley Atwell looked quite good as a blonde in that dress. Nice reference to Roxxon.

Anyone thinks that they are using too much music instead of just quiet dramatic scenes?

The show is ok, better than Agents of Shield but not great. I actually liked the second episode more than the first, but not wowed by it. I'll keep watching it until i hate it, though, and right now it's not even close.

Episode 2 "Bridge and Tunnel" I like the addition of the Captain America radio show. I think Hayley Atwell does a pretty good job in the undercover roles without the English accent. She also does a great job with the action scenes. The fight scene on top of the moving milk truck loaded with explosives was kind of epic. Preview for next week looks good.

Sadly, I think it was that sexist. Have you seen Bletchley Circle? It addresses a lot of the same things and frustrations, for the women who worked at Bletchley.

That was a surprise to hear Atwell's American accent! But she was great at it. Though I agree, it did seem a waste of James Frain's lovely voice. The device he used to 'speak' was a bit hard for me to understand, but also kinda creepy.

LOVED that they used Roxxon Oil and they are in competition with Stark even at this time.

I liked the cuts from the Cap movie too.

I agree completely. He wasn't exactly the comics Jarvis, of course, but D'arcy was great in that role as a predecessor (?) butler. The business with his wife is a lot of fun. I bet we never get to meet her.

I was stunned at how ... buxom Atwell looked. I had no idea. But yes, she was gorgeous, and in period fashion.

Loved it. I couldn't stand Agents of SHIELD, but this show is amazing. The dynamic between Peggy and Jarvis is adorable.

I didn't notice it, but I'll try to watch for on re-viewing.

I haven't finished watching the second episode yet, but I was really impressed with the first one. Of course, I do like this period also, so that may have something to do with it.

I was pretty disappointed with AoS' first episodes ... well, most of the first season. This show has jumped right with the story, which I didn't feel AoS did, and the cast and writing is better, IMO.

Glad to see this is a high quality show. I hope the ratings are good enough for a second season next winter. Maybe another eight episodes, or 10.

I really, really liked this. I hope this becomes, if not a full series, then at least an annual event.

It feels like a Silver Age Marvel comic with the secret identity(ish) activities always needing to be covered up and providing a lot of complications for the heroes.

I like the radio show also. I was wondering, was there a Cap radio show? And are they using the same scripts or is this something that was written for the show?

I agree with this 200%. Love their repartee. I also thought there was potential for Carter and the wounded vet / Agent, whose name I didn't catch. I was watching this with others around and couldn't hear everything.

I agree completely with this too. I hope it blows the doors off the ratings. I want to see more seasons of Agent Carter, as well as some other retro Marvel shows.
