... So did the milk truck crash into the ocean or a lake? If it was a lake, was it "empty" when the implosion was over?

Interviews with the show runners has indicated that if it does well it could be "renewed"... I think it works well as a midseason Event during the AOS hiatus.

I loved it, especially Atwell's range as Carter, and I can definitely see Jarvis growing into the Avengers battle butler from the comics.

Yup this entire episode was better than the whole first season of AoS imo

Its so weird seeing Bubbles & Senator Clay Davis from The Wire, both on comic book based television shows in the same week. Still trying to adjust to that.

Meh I did think it was better then AOS, but I am done watching. Not gonna support stereotypes I mean really a Black Criminal with a Fetish for Blonde White Women.... I mean sheesh I prefer no Black Characters at all if that is what I am going to get.

Is this a joke about people with hyper reactions to everything?

Having a fetish for Haley Atwell isn't such a bad thing.

my nitpick is that apparently-- seemingly-- Spider the fence is (was) the owner (manager?) of this club In midtown Manhattan, and aside from the coatcheck girl, valets, stage performers and kitchen staff, no african americans were actual patrons of the club. (So did he convince people in Wartime Jim Crow-era NYC that he was simply a "brown Italian"? Heh.) Nonetheless, he gets a bullet in the head for his troubles. I'm sure that the Maggia will take over with no problem.

How does this Jarvis compare to 616 Jarvis, or the AI version in the larger MCU?

Much potential for Season 2 so far?

I found myself more distracted by Spider even owning that club in the first place.

Well, this Edwin Jarvis is married (assumedly), compared to 616 who near as we can tell, never married. It will be interesting if we "never" see Mrs. Jarvis on-screen.

Is he much like his 616 characterisation, appearance etc otherwise?

    Thank you.

This was so good, Atwell is a great actress and the story is very good. Good that marvel is giving her this chance that she deserves so much. Very good action scenes and feminism very present on it. A++

I thought it was great that they snuck a nod to Fringe in.

It's only "heavy-handed" if it isn't accurate. Personally I'm pleasantly surprised that they're tackling it this head-on. Marvel has been rather gun-shy about tackling those sorts of controversial issues in the past, at least not this directly. So it's refreshing in a way. And yes, things really were that sexist back then.
