That was all much later...fruit of the poisonous tree if you will...I'm talking about Morrison's run specifically and how completely out of character Cyclops was there.

    There, was that so difficult?

No one ever said he didn't kill him.

If the writers decide that Cyclops eats babies, guess what? It's in character for Cyclops to eat babies.

The problem is, they are able to write Cyclops eating babies and pretend that he's still a hero.

If you write a character as a monster, then he's a monster.

By that logic, nothing can ever be out of character...and that is ridiculous.

I don't think that Marvel is pretending that he's a hero.

It wasn't a retcon when they revealed Magneto had been disguised as Xorn.

Morrison always intended Xorn to be Magneto in disguise. The clues are all there.

    It wasn't a retcon.

Exactly it was never a retcon. There were several hints; when Xorn silenced Kid Omega after he recognised who he was, the iron references in the Annual, how that Imperial Guard guy with the energy powers died.

The way he manipulated the metal ladder during the chase scene in Riot at Xavier.

The omnibus reprints Morrison's original proposal for the series which resulted in him getting hired and the Magneto reveal is part of it.

Yes, otherwise we wouldn't have proposed Moira's dead body stuffed with wires joining the team.

    That doesn't explain the revelation depicted in X-Men #157 - #160...

What, that Magneto was an identity thief? We already knew he was when he killed the guy who forged his Eric Lensherr papers.
