Default Is it time for an in-continuity Silver Age Batman series?

Seems like its the right time to push something like this
The Batline is currently spearheading DCs new bright and innovative approach to new comics
would the market accept a sort of team up book in the vein of Batman brave and the bold?

I know we sort of had that with Batman inc in the early days of the new 52 but since then no title has really replaced it(although Batman and Robin is trying)

    You really want "Silver Age"?

    Do you read Batman '66?

We have a Silver Age Batman title. It's called Batman '66.

GAH!, MajorHoy beat me to it.

The actual Silver Age isn't in continuity anymore.

In order to do that, they would have to bring back the Silver Age Earth-One and establish that it really literally is the Silver Age Earth-One, not another world that is similar.

True, Batman '66 is not in continuity. It is not an alternate Earth that can interact with the current DC main Earth. It's a completely separate line that does not exist as far as main DC continuity is concerned just as main DC continuity does not exist as far as Batman '66 is concerned.

But, considering the direction comics have gone for the last three decades and more, I doubt we will ever see a Silver Age Earth that is truly like the Silver Age stories, not one that is an alternate reality existing in the same storylines as the main DCU continuity. The best we might get is a Silver Age line that never connects with or interacts with the current main DCU- and that is exactly what we have with Batman '66, which I love.

Probably about as close as you're going to get.

If you mean Silver Age in themes and characterizations, arguably there has been a move in that direction. The characterization of Dick Grayson and Bruce Wayne in Grayson, for instance, has very heavy echoes of the Silver Age. Grayson #5 was, in part, an homage to one of the great Silver Age Batman stories. The new Batgirl and Gotham Academy books have silvery overtones as well. In the case of the latter, did anyone ever expect to see Aunt Harriet and Bookworm in-continuity again?

Have you read a lot of Silver Age comic books?

Were you alive back in the Silver Age and reading comic books then?

    NOTE: I was.

No I've just been rewatching Batman Brave and the Bold and wonder if in the current climate if something like that could work in today's market.
I know Batman brave and the bold had a comic book for a bit but that was once again out of continuity

For a bit? Vol. 1 ran for 200 issues, nearly thirty years, and it was not out of continuity, particularly later in the run.

Anyway, if Batman '66 was some huge seller then it would indicate a fan-driven desire for a goofy Batman. But clearly that's not the case.

I've thought about something like this for a while - A few books have come close to the idea; All Star, Widening Gyre, Robin: Year One and parts of Morrison's run, particularity Time and the Batman. however I'd love to see it go further with more classic iconography and very knowing reinventions. I suppose it's first raison d'etre would be to explore the eras of the original Boy Wonders in their prime; so perhaps a 12 issues mini for Dick Grayson, then 12 issues for Jason and 12 issues for Time, each featuring villains, themes and creative sensibilities form their native periods, i.e the "pop crime" 50's & 60's, pulp opera mid 80's and mega-blockbuster 90's. But this time all Batjerk, grimdark and ultra violence dialed up to 100. Last time I mused on this I called it "Dick Sprang and Neal Adams kicked in the nuts by Frank Miller". Dark Batusi!

Not sure how this is relevant to anything.
