    Default Fantastic Four (2015)

Thought there should finally be a thread to discuss the reboot.

Personally, I'm warming up to it a bit. Mainly from hearing all the interesting tidbits from this article: http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Fanta...dit-69149.html

I doubt that article had a genuine source. But on the small chance that it had, it doesn't sound that bad.

Ah yes. Lemster, I was going to do a thread on this, few months back, but thought, I just KNOW how it would've gone.

Had to happen eventually, and better to get the negativity out of the way, mostly, before August, y'know?

Here's a bit from Miles Teller, who I think actually looks like Mister Fantastic in some pictures - hair, head, face:

    From Matthew 'First Class/Kick-Ass' Vaughn:

I'm a bit worried that we haven't even seen so much as the logo for this movie, let alone official stills or a teaser. The movie is slated to premiere in June, no?

Fox does seem to be intent on not creating any positive buzz for this movie.

    And then there's this:

NerdReactor.com, 1/12/2015, Director Josh Trank Trashes the Fantastic Four Reboot Set

... With that said it looks like Josh Trank, the director of this movie, might be breaking under the pressure from the-powers-that-be. Either that or something worse is going on behind the scenes for this already troubled movie. There have been a lot of rumors about this circling from the production crew (via Tiger Droppings) that they were being treated terribly. In addition to these rumors (via Daily Superheroes), it was stated that Josh Trank had caused so much damage to the movie sets that CEO and Chairman of Fox, Jim Gianopulos, had to fly out to Baton Rouge to apologize to the Celtic Media Center staff where the sets were assembled.

This movie is supposed to be released this year on August 7th, but the world hasn’t seen a trailer yet. Hell even Warner Bros. will probably have a Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer out faster than this reboot, and that movie comes out in 2016! It’s really a bit disconcerting when a high budget movie reboot is already facing negative views from the public, and has added negative rumors being spread from the production crew.

Of course rumors are just that, rumors. They could be spread by someone that’s just not happy working there and wants to taint the image from within. However you can’t deny the fact that Devin Faraci from Badass Digest and El Miyambe of Latino-Review tweeted about what they’ve been experiencing with the Fantastic Four production.

We won’t know what to think until we see a trailer for the movie, but with all this bad publicity, it could work to surprising all of us at the end. Someone once said that bad publicity is still good publicity. Then again, someone also said that drinking bleach is good for your skin; which then led to warning labels. We’ll just have to see how this plays out. Could this be a possible a straight-to-DVD movie just to spite Marvel Studios? Who knows?

I'll be honest, I hope it fails miserably, on every level... and then the rights are bought back by DizMar, who finally give us THE defintive take on Marvel's 1st family. An F4 movie done right would not only be a creative victory for the Houses of Mouse & Ideas, it would do boffo business & be the most awesome of rewards for us longtime, long-suffering fans - it's what we & this most fantastic of franchises deserve!

I know the negativity for this project must be wearing thin, but I still have low expectations for this film.

Over at another forum, I commented on a thread devoted to Marvel's announcement of MCU films for the rest of the decade that they don't have full control over their IPs, and the excitement did sober up a little bit. Didn't want to mention it, because both me and Stan Lee got our wishes granted with Doctor Strange, but as long as Sony & 20th Century Fox hold property, they can still make movies.

This could be a fun movie, but even with recent success stories in the box office, it's easy to bungle superhero films, and the previous 2 Fantastic Four films have been pretty stupid, so I won't be surprised if people condemn it as the worst licensed superhero film of all-time.

    The film includes

Miles Teller as Mister Fantastic/Reed Richards.

Michael B. Jordan as the Human Torch/Johnny Storm.

Kata Mara as the Invisible Woman/Susan Storm.

Jamie Bell as the Thing/Benjamin Grimm.

Toby Kebbell as Doctor Doom/Victor Domashev.

Also, includes Tim Blake Nelson as Harvey Elder/Mole Man, whether he is, or becomes, Mole Man, in the film.

Reg. E Cathey as Doctor Franklin Storm - included, much like Ultimate Fantastic Four.

Chet Hanks as Jimmy Grimm, presumably a brother of Ben, added for drama, family, more of past outside Reed.

    Mary-Pat Green as Bens' mother.

Mary Rachel Dudley as Mrs. Richards.

Adam Fristoe as Quantum Gate Scientist.

Evan Hannemann as Young Ben Grimm.

Owen Judge as Young Reed Richards.

And many more, according to this http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1502712/...=tt_cl_sm#cast

Hopefully that works, and clears some things up.

I have said it many times before that all they would need to do is drop a good teaser trailer and buzz about this film could start to turn fast. The fact that they haven't released anything about the movie at all to me is not a good sign at all. If they wait until the last minute and then start dropping trailers that could really bite them in the ass in trying to reverse all the bad press this movie has had. Moving it to August where there is less comeptition also looks to me like they didn't think it could go up against stuff like Jurassic World or Ted 2 without getting stomped which again is not a great sign.

    Teaser's coming out February 13

    Here is what Kinberg said:

To confirm - Fantastic Four will be doing 3-4 days of additional photography with director Josh Trank and some key cast members. We are very excited about the film and can't wait for you to see what we've been up to. And you will be able to do that very soon as I can confirm here that the teaser will be on Kingsman in theaters February 13.

Ha ha, I was just wondering whether to post that here, or if it was already posted.

At long last. Hopefully it's a somewhat good one, give a bit of plot, show Reed, Johnny, Ben and Sue, and maybe even Victor, or Franklin.

Plus, odd bit of guards, people and cosmic stuff, hopefully.

We have three Age Of Ultron trailers, one Ant-Man trailer, and next month, we'll finally have a The Fantastic Four trailer.
