That was something many Nick Fury fans predicted upon the original announcement of that series.

I honestly doubt it will be permanent. He's Nick Fury damnit! He never dies, he just ages like a fine wine. I do think this will take him off the table for a few years though. But it'll be an LMD or something. I'm still hoping for the eventual Sr/Jr storyline where Sr is manipulating Jr without Jr knowing it and fight or something.

Plus, Marvel movies are only planned until 2028. He'll be back after then at the worst case lol.

The LMD, much like the Doombot, is always an option. But taking him off the table for a few years while his replacement gets a push doesn't bode well for his return.

I'm still waiting for the "Jr falls into a volcano is never heard from again" storyline.

You mean fearing it ever since Marcus Johnson (has a long way to go before he earns the right to the name) was introduced.

So this is the last step that brings Samuel L Fury to the top in 616?

Nope, you would need to get rid of Maria Hill first. Expect her to be removed in some fashion once it is over.

I've said since Marcus Johnson's introduction, that Marvel was REPLACING Nick Fury with him. But when Original Sin was announced with Fury playing a major role, I and others, predicted it would happen in this event with his death.

Reporting here as well. Glad to see Original Nick getting more love. A part of me still wishes Mr. Redford played him.

Thanks for starting this thread too.

Really? After the Winter Soldier movie? I could see Clint Eastwood ... maybe a few years ago.

Kurt Russell!!! YES! I remember now, you cast him before, and I thought it was inspired.

Fury was not always the leader of SHIELD.
