Thread: Deadly Class #4

    Default Deadly Class #4

I think this book has really hit its stride the last two issues. Between the crazy shocker that ended last issue and the drug fueled insanity that today's issue was, this is really cementing it's place as one of my favorites. Really starting to like all the characters now that we're getting to know them. Willie and Marcus' friendship is cool to see, Maria is going to be full of drama, you can just tell that, and Saya is just too awesome.

Then of course, you've got the visuals. I've been sold on this book ever since I saw the character designs, especially Wes Craig's Saya variant for #1. The visual sense of this book is just flawless... but man, Wes Craig and Lee Loughridge went nuts this issue, I mean...

    DAMN.

This issue was awesome. Without a doubt my issue of the week. I'm a Grateful Dead fan, so I really loved all the stuff that took place at the concert with the "dirty hippies". Oh, and the visuals? Good gravy, just look at the picture Fhiz posted! Absolutely stunning.

This might be the best looking book on the shelves for me.

I did notice it and I'm glad they did it, as it's obvious this idea for this issue never would have existed without Fear and Loathing. Regardless, great issue. So many good Image books this week. Remender is just doing wonders.

Another great issue for this series, probably the most memorable one yet. The page posted above is just nuts. Everything about this series is so much better than Remender's other work, and of course Wes Craig deserves a lot of credit. I can't wait for F***face's true debut, he sees like such a deplorable and irredeemable villain.

I really hope this comic gets back to focusing on the school part of Deadly Class because I rather see more stories involved with the school related stuff than with just these characters alone, which I'm having a real difficult time liking or caring about (except Willie, since he seems pretty cool and interesting. Why couldn't he be the main character?). Art is fine and it looks like an interesting issue is coming up, but this single issue just didn't do much for me.

Hmm I have to disagree. By far my least favorite part of this series so far were the brief scenes in issue #2 that had the students going to their "classes" (like Decapitation 101 or whatever they were called). I thought it was just kind of dumb and highlighted the stupider / less believable aspects of the series. I'm okay if they're AT the school, but I didn't care for the "going to class" stuff.

That part hooked me more because that's what interested me the most about the series going into it (I was hoping to see a far more serious less cartoony version of Five Weapons, which I do enjoy also) and while it did look silly seeing it, I still want see more of it along with cliques in the school.

The last two issues of this series really sold me on not only this series, but Remender as a creator. I've enjoyed what I've read of his Captain America run, but his creator owned stuff is his best.

As for the school aspect coming back in future issues. From what it seems like, the series takes place for like 4 years while the Class of '91 goes through the school. Although I kinda hope this will lead to Marcus as an assassin in a sequel series.

One of my favorite series out. I didn't have high hopes when I heard about it, but I'm loving it a lot.

I'm really enjoying this series. I agree with the "classes," they can do without those or just briefly mention it. I think the best parts of the story is everything around the classes.

I think it's the best issue of the serie so far. I smiled when I saw the tribute to Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, funny how I saw it yesterday just before reading the comic
