Default Claremont - Nightcrawler green-lit as an ongoing at least (sales permitting) to issue 12

Good news on Chris's Facebook this morning:

Good news for Nightcrawler fans - the first issue print-run was better than 50K. Even better, the issue's gone back to press for a second printing! Guess the Elf has some appeal after all -- looks like Dave (Cockrum)(& Len Wein) must have known what they were doing back in the day. And orders on #2 are likewise robust, which in turn leads to the in-house buzz that the series is green-lit as an ongoing at least (sales permitting) through year 1 (that's NC #12). So, let's justify the faith of management, readers, and keep those sales high! Heck, let's surprise the modern publishing world and try something revolutionary these days: a title whose sales increase from issue to issue! Worked back in the day for Uncanny, don't'chaknow. I'll keep the stories coming, you folks tell your friends; let's see what we can come up with, hey?

I'm happy for Chris that it's been upgraded from a mini, but I wish they would have rewarded him by moving him over to a better assignment.

I can always go for more Amanda Sefton.

More obscure characters that have meaning to the X-Mythos but are overlooked please!

The second issues was better than the first in my opinion, and I'm getting used to Claremont speech. I want to see where it goes.

This is welcome news. The first issue of Nightcrawler was more than deserving of a second printing in my opinion. It showed that Claremont has a great feel for this character. And when he finds something that works, he really runs with it. It's nice to know we have 12 issues to look forward to with this series. And I hope we get more, but that might be asking for a bit much. X-men solo titles that don't involve Wolverine tend to not last long-term. It would be nice if this one bucked the trend, but if anyone can pull it off, it's Chris Claremont.

Marvel should also give him X-men now that Wood decided to leave.
