I went into this thread thinking it was Ralph Macchio.
Good Marvel characters- Bring Them Back!!!
mantis will see that this fight is a curbstomp and thus leave before the match even starts.
It depends, while Pre Crisis/Lightning Saga Val of the holding off kryptonians until he tires, negating speed force lightning channeled instant death effects even as they hit him, emerald eye shattering, earthquake cancelling with his foot, turning Superboy into an uncontrollable superspeed spinning top, throwing things faster than bullets because he knows all the galaxy's martial arts and there's a planet where they do that and various other "super karate" shenanigans takes out Mantis just fine.
Reboot Val, with his solar system scale judo redirect/toss of a charging Mon-El, punching through starship hulls, finding weak points in force fields and messing with people with intangibility powers, similarly.
The best one could say for Mantis not having massive problems with either is that she tripped the Runner the one time, but honestly, that was so far into her career and so beyond anything she did before or since that it's not really credible.
"threeboot" or, Waid incarnation Val though, gets smoked for being one of the incredibly rare sorts in comics that actually has to consciously activate his enhanced reaction time/speed. Mantis, by contrast, does not. She can outrun a shotgun blast, she can rush over and maul the dude before he thinks "speeeeed!". Unless he has some baseline reaction feats I haven't seen, I would suppose.
