Can we get new reputation or bigger avatars?

I post on some other forums and reputation system(controlled) and bigger avatars as you post more makes me motivated to post more and with quality. I know this could lad to a lot of spamming but isn't there anyway to incorporate that. Again, I do not know what goes in to managing forums and implementing changes but would be happy to receive a civilized reply to the query.

He's talking about a feature where users get to add or subtract reputation points from each other. It was brought up on the old forums, but we dismissed it because we felt it could be too easily abused and it would eventually require moderators to deal with reputation disputes. Given that we want CBR to be inviting and accepting of everyone, I'd say we have even more reason to dismiss it now.

I think larger avatars would be nice, though. 100x100 seems about the average on most forums I visit.

Reputations can be a good thing IF they also affect how messages are display -- i.e. those posts with higher reputations get pushed to the top while others move in to the queue. It's how Facebook handles displaying comments on pages. If there's something like that, we could look in to it.

I believe the only way to have individual post likes on vB (such as on Bleeding Cool) is to add a plug-in.

Bleeding Cool lets you like posts, and I think they have the same vBulletin software as here.

Although I feel like that could lead to too much cliquey mentality that you guys are trying to avoid.

I've been updating them when I can, and I've actually put a lot more in than what was available just a few months ago. Coulson's on the to-do list.

There's no real need to wait; you can always make your own. Find an image of Coulson you like, and any of a number of image manipulation software will enable you to do the job.

I'd love bigger avatars. CBR has always been uncommonly small with them. 100x100 is usually the minimum I see on other forums, and I think I've seen up to 150x200.

I'd also like to have image banners in our signatures, but I suspect that one won't happen.

We decided a long time ago not to allow that.

I'd be for larger avatars; more variety that way. I also still like the ability to like certain posts as it's nice to be able to like something as opposed to quoting it and saying, "Fo shizzle, I agree," or doing the 10 character dance.

I agree with this -- I often delete agreement posts because they don't add anything to the discussion. I'll look in to that plug-in next week.
