Someone thought this up on an acid trip, you can't convince me otherwise.

The black girl is Carrie lol, leave no ginger unchanged! But the main Batman son is a freaking OC. This show is DOA.

How long before they make Catwoman East-Asian, Middle-Eastern or Native-American too. She's already been Caucasian, African-American and now Latina in outside media, might as well keep hitting the other boxes too.

Duke being Robin on this show is whatever, but I don't understand why they gave Barbara's costume to Cassandra. The different Batgirls have all had their own distinct look before.

She's been all of those things in comics too. Frank Miller definitely meant her to be black or biracial in Year One and her 90's solo book established she's half-Latina with a Cuban mother.

I find it strange how this was the part of the comment you decided to acknowledge. What gave you the impression that I did not know about her comic history just because I mentioned "outside media"? Especially after I literally said they can keep making her anything else they choose to.

Her voice actress is Latina but I don't think they racebended Catwoman in this show. She looks Caucasian. I don't know what appearances Americans consider "white" but unless it's stated on the show that she is Latina, then she is still Caucasian. But we have to remember that Latino/Hispanic isn't a race.

Not really. It's the simplest thing. "We want to make a Batman show for preschoolers. What do little kids like? Pixar's Cars is popular, and Batman has an iconic car..."
I don't know why people feel like this is such a strange concept. If you apply just a bit of "executive think" to it, it makes perfect sense.

Of course this being Hollywood, after the taxing job of "being creative" they then proceeded to snort cocaine or whatever the hip new drug is, but that had nothing to do with the creative process...sadly.

    ...but Cassandra Cain is Asian.

Edit: D'oh! You said Catwoman. My eyes read Batgirl for some reason...

At least they're not calling Cass "Orphan."

I'm reminded of Gina Rodriguez's Velma who was explicitly Latina.

I love ProZD's stuff. I like his video about "celebrity voices in animated movies." I think he's becoming a hypocrite...

Velma speaking Spanish could also mean that she is Spanish. Spanish people are a European ethnic group. Spanish Americans should be included in the European American group. But because they speak Spanish they are included in Hispanic Americans. But Latino/Hispanic isn't a race. Because there are white Latinos, Black Latinos, Mestizos ( people of mixed European and Amerindian ancestry), and so on. The USA should use nationality or ethnicity on the census instead of race.
