If that's what they're going for, that'll be fine. But if so, then they didn't do a very good job of giving that impression. They only felt the need to talk about how tough and serious she is. Thus? That's what I have to work with right now.

If it turns out there's more to her than that, then that'll be a pleasant surprise.

Timm's going to seriously damage the character's reputation if he keeps fetishizing her like this. I was talking to a casual fan before Suicide Squad released last year and he legit thought Harley Quinn was an S&M type of character from the Timm artwork and Arkham games that he had been exposed to

Um Harley was pretty fetishized to begin with. Least we forget that her first appearance featured her as a cop themed Stripper.
