I'm baffled by what I'm hearing about the Injustice movie. The Injustice franchise is immensely popular and sells no matter how many people complain about it (especially on this website). You would think they would've tried to make a coherent film series for each year. That's money they just threw away. Oh well, DC being DC.
DC's adapted films have been piss poor these past couple of years. DoS was pretty good and TLH was also good but the others were garbage. I don't know what happened to DC's animated films department but it's just so inconsistent now.

Apparently the budget got slashed hard after Flashpoint. I’ve never seen a source for that but it makes sense to me, the sales had been steadily declining for a while.

It doesn't sound like budget issues so much as a writing issue, and that's on the writer/executives.
(If the sales have been declining I don't think the line would still be going at this point. Honestly feels like they're producing more DC Animated movies than ever, for better or worse depending on who you ask).
HBO Max plays a role in that I believe. Streaming services need a constant source of new content to keep people invested, and these movies are a relatively cheap way to feed the beast so to speak. They’re making more movies but they’re not attempting to recreate the art style anymore (not that they always did). Personally I believe they were told to make more with less, certainly wouldn’t be the first in that regard.

The Flash death scene is so incredibly bad and nonsensical (seriously I can think of like 50 ways Barry could get out of that) it almost boils around to being funny.
Budgets have definitely been cut but the writing doesnt have to be poor.

The J-man
I actually think the movies that seem to be in the new "shared universe" that started with Superman:Man of Tomorrow have mostly been pretty solid, frankly significantly better than most of the New 52 style shared universe ones that came before them.
This standalone was a total mess though.

I mean, the Butch Lukic movies look good to me, but that's just my opinion.
It really sucks that DC hasn’t taken full advantage of the success of Young Justice. The show has featured a lot of new or seldom used characters in really great ways.
Aqualad is definitely a great addition to the DCU and this version originated on the show but there are a number of other characters who have been squandered. I can’t believe they haven’t made Artemis/Tigress a more prominent character in the comics. They could have another much needed Asian-American superhero. There is also a lot of potential in the YJ version of Halo.
They never took advantage of the popularity of the animated shows that came before either. Hawkgirl was tossed to the side despite being a big part of the DCAU. Stewart should’ve been pushed alongside Hal, someone else could’ve done plots for John while Hal was being built back up with Johns. The Titans are garbage and didn’t benefit at all from their popular cartoon. DC just can’t see to connect.
I get synergy doesn’t work all the time, Iron Man hasn’t benefitted at all from the MCU really, but DC really just isn’t able to profit off of their successful animated shows.
