Good for him. Although I would like to see how Spawn handles teaming up with John's Superman and maybe even the Atom or Frankenstein.
Spawn arguably offers a lot of room for multi-realm explorations.
Recent 'terrain-themed' comic book art characters such as Aeon Flux and The Maxx have opened doors and created talk about all kinds of fun weird materials-economics stuff:
"Sandman (Marvel Comics), the nemesis of the webbed-wonder Spider-Man, is a super-villain who can shape-shift like sand and make sand-potent weapons. Sandman comes face-to-face with Swamp Thing (DC Comics), a freakish fellow who is born in the sludge of fermenting wetlands. Like Sandman, Swamp Thing can shape-shift and become strong but with organic matter and vegetation and mud instead of sand. These two pair off and create a real terrain battlefield."
Maybe a movie adaptation of The Maxx will inspire a Spawn sequel...
Aeon Flux
Even if Todd McFarlene did a Marvel or DC book, would it really be that big a deal now?
