I can't wait for this movie to come out . . . sooooooooooo cool.

It will be sad to see Whedon go, but I'm sure Marvel will find the right people for the films. They are their big movie franchise, and who doesn't want to play with Marvel? Now if they could just get Spider-Man . . .

I'd love to see Whedon continue in his over-arching advisory role... helping determine the overall course of the franchise, picking the right writers and directors, etc... and maybe joining the Agents of SHIELD writers' room. But I agree that it's time for him to go back to his own projects. He's got a backlog of things to do, starting with Dr. Horrible II and his Wastelanders web project with Warren Ellis.

Marvel getting sitcom tv guys and the director of Yes Man doesn't get me interesting in any of their movies. I would rather them getting guys like James Gunn being the rule more than the exception.
The Russos more than proved themselves as "action directors" in CA:TWS though. The gun and hand to hand action was amazing throughout the film, the fights came out of nowhere and felt dangerous, and there was even a total Michael Bay explosion porn scene at the end.

I'd definitely like to see Joss complete his contract as of A: AoU. Let's move on Marvel.

I think it has already lead to a pretty lousy retcon in the comics that has royally messed up both characters. And even though I have faith in Whedon, these two are not what excites me about this movie in the slightest. I would much rather see more Falcon, Maria Hill, or Captain Marvel in the next Avengers movie. Not Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch. But like I said, if anyone can make it awesome, it's Whedon.
I actually could care less about Scarlet Witch. Everything about her seems boring, to me.

Quicksilver, on the other hand, I've been interested in seeing for a while. Going back to Peter David's initial days with X-Factor. He made me really understand Quicksilver with one issue.

It's so weird to me that after The Avengers came out, Whedon was being hailed as the shepherd of the MCU, and now he's seen as passe.

Most of the action in that movie was pretty average at best. The bit that stood out as good was the attack on Fury. The ending kind of sucked, with stuff like the Captain America vs Winter Soldier fight not being helped by looking like terrible green screen shots with bad CGI.

Judging by how the first movie treated the newbie Hawkeye, I'm kind of skeptical about that.

On the other hand, every time a new heroic mutant is introduced in the new movies, they disappear after 2-10 minutes of screen time, so hey, it's possible that Whedon can give Pietro more screen time.

Right. My only complaint is that there was too much shaky cam at brief periods of the movie. Everything else was incredible.
