Default DC heroes who turn 75 this year. Any you think should be a bigger deal?

While we celebrated Superman's 75th in 2013, there was hardly a mention of Zatanna's father Zatara or the Crimson Avenger.
Last year, we commemorated the 75th of a little known caped crusader without a thought for The Sandman (Wesley Dodds), Blue Beetle (Dan Garret) or Doll Man.
So here is the list of DC heroes who turn 75 this year (Note- some characters not created by DC but are currently owned by them):

January: Flash (Jay Garrick), Hawkman (Carter Hall), Johnny Thunder
February: Captain Marvel (DC Comics), Spectre (Jim Corrigan), Doc Strange
    March: Hourman (Rex Tyler)
    April: Robin (Richard Grayson)
    Spring: Catwoman (Selina Kyle)
May: Bulletman and Bulletgirl, Doctor Fate (Kent Nelson & Nabu)
July: Uncle Sam (comics), Green Lantern (Alan Scott), The Red Bee
    October: Atom (Al Pratt)
November: Red Tornado (Ma Hunkel), Quicksilver (Max Mercury)
    Winter: Justice Society of America

Seems strange that the current incarnations of some of these characters may not even survive their 75th in Earth 2: Worlds End!

I was glad they put out one of their ginormous 75th anniversary books for Flash and they better do the same for GL.

I thought they were all turning four this year.

    ;-)

    Seriously, though...
I'm hoping the JSA, as being the first superhero team, gets some sort of recognition.

The problem is, they seem to want to recognize the name rather than the historical characters that first had that name.

Look at all those Flash 75th variant covers . . . how many featured Jay?!?

Good point. The answer is none, isn't it?

The least they could do with some of these characters is give them a celebratory one-shot.

I would have thought so. It would get kind of lost with Convergence, Multiversity etc going on right now though

They should really pay homage to the entire Golden Age's 75th, particularly the JSA.

Sadly, while the Silver Age found the way to bring them back in perpetuity. This current gen./Age has decided they never even existed.

That does look pretty good. Shame about the cover:

Maybe a compendium of all their first appearances would be nice

Most likely we'll get a Justice League 75th anniversary special featuring the current team instead of JSA.
It's the thought that counts, right?
