Same. Not feeling the design but since Cyborg's tech is intrigal to the plot, as it's made from the other worldly Mother Box that Steppenwolf is after, I can picture his armor doing some amazing things. Really can't imagine they'd just have him use the arm canon. While I've lost a ton of faith in the DCEU I'm gonna remain optimistic about Cyborg's showing in this movie.
Looking at this again, I like that Cyborg's design looks a bit disturbing. You can tell there isn't a human body, he looks like an actual robot. Some of the usual bulky designs almost make it seem like Vic is put inside of an armored suit, while here you can clearly see there's no limbs. I think it's smart to portray him that way and when he gets the "hologram" look, it would be that much more satisfying.

That still does not excuse why Cyborg looks like a reject from an 1980s late night sci fi movie starring John Travolta, Patrick Swayze & Ron Howard's brothers with Billy Blanks and being riffed by Mystery Science Theater 3000.
That is BAD looking. Can you image that as a toy?
Brainic's design from the 80s was not an option?
For dramatic scenes, it helps that he can turn human. I am down with that.
If he was gonna be this much CGI, I kinda don't see the need for him to bulk up like he did. He might as well gone the RDJ/Don Cheadle route.
I'm on the outside looking in, so I can only speculate.
Why does no one acknowledge that Cyborg is standing at an angle? It's a dramatic pose. We've got multiple pics showing that he's a natural size. There's nothing skinny about dude. For what he is though...it's pretty good.
There's likely some post-production polishing left to be done, and it's going to translate differently when it's live. But yeah, this is it for all intents and purposes.
I'm not sure about it. On one hand, I do agree that Vic needs to look like he's not just wearing an Iron Man suit. You need to be able to tell that parts are missing. But this, I think, goes too far. He's literally just a head and ribs. On one hand that can really drive his story home on a deeper level. On the other, it could be incredibly off-putting and ruin the character.
There's an approach that makes this work, Im certain. Whether DC will actually hit that note is another matter entirely.
"We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another, as if we were one single tribe."
