Okay this issue won me over a bit.

Shark-girl getting so much attention is kinda weird though.

After her intro issue in WATXM vol 1, Aaron said we would be seeing more of her...and we did...but never in the depth or detail of that original issue. This issue is the most she's in since that original issue.

And it was nice seeing her show some insecurities. Though last time i checked she could switch from Shark Mode to human mode if she wanted.

Interesting to see what comes from the Julian/Iara ship tease.

Thought the issue was pretty good.
Was a little thrown off by the tone of the book.
It's trying to be simultaneously serious and farcical.

Plus I dislike Mojo immensely, so his introduction wasn't welcome.
Still I'm enjoying the book and love seeing the X-Kids get some proper panel time though, so I'll keep reading.

It almost reads to me like it's part of Marvel Adventures or some other off sides book. It does deliver though. It's kooky, weird and doesn't take it's self too seriously. It focuses on the class of the school and their adventures. So it lives up to what it's supposed to be, a lighthearted zany adventure about teen heroes. UDON style Spider-man distracted me, that was about my only complaint.

Yeah, there's something here that's clicking for me in a way WatXM never did. It could just be that I'm more forgiving because I already care about some of the cast, though.

Well there could be a chance that the spy isn't one of these students and someone that the X-Men never noticed like Crosta, Indra, or Match

Or Cipher she is still a ? on backstory or if she is there.

Indra got TWO storylines focusing on him lol, which is sadly more than what most X-Kids get nowadays.

I want to really like this book, because I like Hellion, Ernst, and Martha a lot, but it's just all so sloppily done. I think any of the students could be swapped out for any other student of that type without changing the dialogue or script, which is not good.

I read this book and then Amazing X-Men and, compared to Yost's characterization of Rockslide in Amazing, this book is so lackluster.

You got to factor in that Yost has written Rockslide for years

Elliots written him for 2 issues...plus he had Santo drop a Godzilla refrence...which is bonus points

give him a couple issues to get a real for the characters
