Default Make Up Your Own Wonder Woman Continuity

I remember the old Superman forums they had a thread about their own versions of the Man of Steel and his world. Thought I'd do the same thing for Diana. Just a fun thread were we can discuss our ideas for a Wonder Woman comic.

I would love to see almost all the reboots to be somewhat cannon.

Diana is the first child on Paradise Island but Diana was lonely and went to Aphrodite's. Aphrodite made her a twin maybe it can be Nubia.

    Hippoltya and Phillippus are married

The amazons can if they want go to the temple to make children.

Men can't go on the Island due to it being dangerous and at 12 midnight will turn into monster

The amazons are msytic tech. They have mental radio. The purple healing ray was created by a healing crystal

Steve and Diana should be a couple

Donna should be biological related to Diana

Mostly Post-Crisis continuity with some changes. Clay origin, flawed amazon utopia... (no Amazons Attack!). In this continuity no writer would be allowed to to tell a "revert-to-clay" story: once se's made flesh and blood, she's flesh and blood. The "souls of murdered women" concept... I don't know... Probably I would change/skip that part for a modern day origin.
Divine blessings like beauty, wisdom and animal empathy are from birth, but the others (strenght, flight...) are earned winning the contest. Piercing weapons vulnerability would only apply to massive penetrating forces, not mundane bullets and arrows. I don't know if this is even a vulnerability... even my skin is more vulnerable to knives than to punches!
Supporting cast from various eras would exist simultaneously (Kapatelis family, Sandsmark family, Rucka's embassy, Etta Candy...). Donna Troy is Diana's sister (mystical twin, half-sister or whatever) and for some (simple) reason was raised in man's world since her teen years.
Themyscira has a classic greek design, but developed advanced mystic tech. Mytological flora/fauna lives on the island.
WW's battle uniform starts like a greek armor (somewhat modernized in design), then she adds some color when she become a JLA member.
The gods: the more their domain is close to mortals, the more they are usually human-like. Some of the gods like Hepaestus, Artemis and Apollo never had an effective modernization, so I don't mind if they use Chiang's version, but some others needs to stay classic (or based on Rucka's gods, especially Athena). No monstrous form.
    Diana's personality would be Rucka/Simone.

Some of the Post Crisis continuity. Instead of them guarding Doom's Doorway, I would like Themyscira to be a door to the Multiverse. Because it is, they will be probably the most technological advanced society next to the original Atlantis.

Hippolyte is queen. She has a daughter named Diana (LOL Duh). Before the amazons came to Themyscira, the Queen had a sworn enemy (Dark Angel, Circe, Hecate, maybe they are really the Three furies). Insert Magala, creates the magical twin of Diana, gets kidnapped. The Titans rescue her, times passes, and after training her, sends her back to the Amazons to raise. She becomes Donna, about 6 or 7 years younger than Diana.

All Amazons are Captain America to Spider-Man level of power. Since they are the guardians of the doorway to the multiverse they have to be. Valkyrie and Amazons all fall under Hippolyte's rule. After Diana wins the contest, her powers are upgraded to what we know of now. Eventually Donna's powers as a Titan will awaken when she gets older and she will serve as an ambassador of the Titans and the Olympians.

mine would have diana's be a relatively normal classic mix with the new 52, while i would incorporate the stan lee's wonder woman with myan mythology into donna troy's origin for this universe. http://www.comicartcommunity.com/gal...6/hughes53.jpg

    - Amazon's driven from Civilization by harsh sexist times, and a war with Hercules (him raping them was a mythological myth that sprung up over time, but he did kill and beat in to submission a handful of them in battle), they steal a very small bit of Olympian technology, including devices to mask there island location & make them immortal.
    - Decades later Hippolyta begs a audience with Athena, the owl like goddess appear before her, Hippolyta begs for a child, Athena in her great kindess gives her 2, 1 Named Diana, 1 Named Donna Troy.
2 large blocks of clay appear before the Qween, Athena carves the qweens hands and places them bleeding upon the blocks, she says wait 3 days...
    - 3 days later the blocks crumble in the morning mist, and 2 babies lay among the rubble. as Hippolyta takes them to a nearby pond to wash them, lightening strikes the sand, and zeus appears, and demands one of the children, in exchange he will not forcefully take them AND the tech they stole from the gods, which would leave the amazons mortal and exposed to the world, the qween gives up Donna.
    - Diana is raised happily among her sisters, she feels welcome and very little Alienation.
    - Zeus gives Donna Troy as a Peace offering to the Myan Gods.
    - The Myan Gods give her to a lost tribe of there worshipers, who are immortal thru a spring, the legendary fountain of youth and have cut them selves off from civilization like the amazons.
    - Ares Trains a young Diana
    - Diana leaves to explore mans world, right snack dab in the middle of WW2, she finds her self very quickly aiding US soldiers in liberating a concentration camp, seeing male warriors risking there lives to save innocents of both genders, she realizes men are not a great evil staining the world.
    - she fights for a year for top secret missions for the allies until Ares steps in and demands she return to her island, this is a mortal war not a godly one, he claims humanity will reach a positive pinnacle at the end of this, but they must reach it alone (he of course actually means we will reach a pinnacle of warfare with the atomic bomb) diana trusting of her teacher, agrees and returns to the amazons.
    - she witnesses thru the amazons/magic/tech, the end of the war and feels horrific betrayal from ares, while vaguely understanding the necessity of the use of the atomic weapons when she angrily meets with him, she knows she could have brought a end to the war with less loss of life.
    - modern day - steve trevor in a top secret stealth plane crashes on the amazonian island, he had heard legends of her from his veteran grandfather, who fought briefly along side her for a single mission in ww2
    - she returns to civilization with trevor as a ambassador, reveals her islands existence (altho not there location), to the world and public, becomes part of the justice league, (in a more mature wise version of her new 52 entrance basically)
    - a huge cataclysm transpires in south America killing the lost myan tribe, including donna troy, a peaceful archeologist Maria Mendoza witnesses the event, and is somehow merged (don blake/thor) style with donna troy's soul.
    - maria/troy appears in civilization, attempting to do good, stopping crime, preventing disasters, and meets diana, perplexed by the identical warrior woman that stands before her, she takes the confused heroine to her home, where Hippolyta reveals that she had a sister (she had not revealed it to the amazons as they would not have taken well to her appeasing the father of hercules)
    - troy is thankful for having a home after her own family has been destroyed, but still feels some level of alienation, thanks to both her origins and coming from a very different culture
    - diana / troy become super hero partners, dealing with earthly and mythological threats alike

I'd want to do a Wonder Woman continuity in the vein of "Xena: Warrior Princess". The heart & soul of that series was equally both the relationship between Xena & Gabrielle and also all of the action too as well, and I'd like to see a Wonder Woman run done like that. With both the romantic relationship between Steve & Diana and her mission/superheroics being the heart & soul of the run/continuity. All well-written of course.

    The Amazons
Main Cast: Hippolyta and Donna, and Perez's cast (Philippus, Menalippe, Hellene, etc.) and other additions like Mala and Io. Artemis and the Bana Amazons would be added later.
    - Their religion is simplified to worshiping Aphrodite/Venus, with Athena/Minerva as a secondary patron.
    - Hippolyta rules with the Golden Girdle given to her by Aphrodite. Antiope is second in command and has a Silver Girdle.
    - The business with Hercules goes down, the Amazons rebel and escape. Antiope leads a faction away to claim vengeance, and they go on to become the Bana-Mighdall Amazons.
    - The Amazons leave the shores of Man of their own volition, finding an isolated island that Aphrodite hides between dimensions with a mystical barrier.
    - Technologically advanced Amazons. Basically, WW: Earth One's take on Paradise Island is used.
    - The Amazons hone their minds and bodies to perfection. They develop meditation techniques that allow them to astral project into the God Sphere. They draw energies from it, making them superhuman. Since mortals gaining divine powers can lead to craziness, Aphrodite gives them the Bracelets of Submission to better control it until they can master themselves. Any of the Amazons could have become Wonder Woman, but Diana wanted it the most.
    - A similarly immortal group of male warriors called the Gargareans exist. The Amazons meet with them on neutral ground, get it on, and that's where babies come from. Females go with the Amazons, males go with the Gargareans. Diana is a result of the union between Hippolyta and a Gargarean.
    - Lot's of loving submission, weird sex games and kangas abound.
    - The Lasso is forged from links taken from Hippolyta's Girdle. At Aphrodite's command, the Amazons forge it and give it to Diana. It has its powers of submission as well as truth, and it can be used against Wonder Woman if she is not careful.

    More later on...

Mine would be similar to post crisis wonder woman. Amazons are an all female society filled with women that have come seeking refuge and a few women that have been made from clay such as Diana, Donna, Nubia, a few others. Hippolyta would be their queen. They would operate under a republic/democratic format. They would be advanced in science, magic, arts, combat etc. Amazons have slightly above peak human stats. When Diana wins the competion she gets bestowed with godlike powers by hippotyla. I'd make Donna a young Amazon who loves wonder woman and travels with her on her adventures off the island. Cassie would be a young demigod who meets wonder woman and is inspired by her. Nubia would be her twin sister who is equal to her. I'd think at first they'd be frenemies and Nubia would be corrupted by Ares but then she would become wonder woman's trusted ally. Her supporting cast would be the amazons. Donna, Cassie, Nubia would be her partners. I'd make a new wonder girl after a while because I would want bothe Donna and Cassie to grow into their own heros.

Needless to say that I would systematically annihilate every single new52 addition. A father (especially Zeus... gross), weapon spouting bracelets (was Azzarello a Dungeon&Dragons powerplayer?), amazon dystopia (grotesque), male mentor (especially Ares... just no), God of War (grotesque to the point of being demential), superman romance (gross) and so on.
There is no place for these things in a WW mythology that I can tolerate.

    I would:

    - Make Hippolyta and Diana leaders on Paradise Island, but turn it from a monarchy into a republic. Paradise Island would be a politically complex society. There would be a Senate or similar representative body, with Amazons as elected officials. Thinking more of a Roman model here.

    - All Amazons have strength and powers comparable to Wonder Woman's. Amazon training would be involved. Diana is simply the first among equals. Flight, like lasso, is a separate gift, awarded after winning the contest.

    - Whether clay origin or Zeus origin, the origin would make very little difference. Like Hawk80's idea: clay origin would be irreversible; no reversion to clay. Zeus origin would not give her a special relationship with the other gods.

    - Her chief tie to the outside world would be with Holliday College, where she would be the soccer or track coach. She is the mentor to her team which would serve as a latter day Holliday Girls. The Kapatelises and the Sandsmarks can be other faculty members here.

reposting this from its own thread.

    Tell me what you think
    Wonder Woman
Princess from the mystical island of Themyscira, Diana was blessed by the gods with amazing speed and strength. She also possesses the power of flight, silver bracelets that can deflect bullets, and an indestructible golden lasso spun from the girdle of the earth Goddess Gaea. She also has an assortment of other mystical artifacts and equipment available to her that where created by Hephaestus. Unlike most superheroes she is nomadic, a worldly woman who travels the earth and isn’t tide to any one location. She was sent to “Man’s world” by her mother Hippolyta, and this is a directive she takes quite literally.
Precocious, audacious and daring she is equal parts adventurer, princess and warrior.

    Supporting cast.
Steve Trevor: A military test pilots, who accidentally crash lands on Themyscira, while testing the military’s new top secrete stealth aircraft. He is cunning, a capable leader and a surprisingly skilled fighter. Steve's main character drive is his will for independence. He’s a little bit of a rogue, prone to going off script when not following his own plan.

Etta Candy: Wonder Woman’s best friend and sometimes sidekick, she’s a globetrotting adventurer in her own right. Known for her moxie, her love of candy, and for her trademark call "Woo! Woo!" she is both comic relief and legitimate help.
Wondergirl: An energetic young demigoddess who manages to persuade Wonder Woman into making her protégé. Cassandra is the daughter of Dr. Helena Sandsmark, (an archaeologist with whom Wonder Woman was working) and the Greek god Zeus.
Donna Troy: A magical duplicate of Diana created by the Amazons to rule Themyscira instead of both Hippolyta and Diana. She to eventually leaves the island, eventually attending Holiday College and becoming the leader of the famous Holiday girl’s sorority. The more stoic of the two “Wonder Girls”, she is nonetheless, a skilled amazon warrior and almost as strong as Wonder Woman herself. She wields the magic sword Damocles.
The Holiday girls: A college sorority with friendly ties to both Wonder Woman and Etta Candy(former member). They are amateur archeologist, that often maintain and curate Holiday College’s large assortment of ancient texts and artifacts.
    Villians
Ares: The god of bloodlust and war, and long running enemy of the Amazon’s who, though being the world’s greatest warriors revere his sister Athena, over him. He gains his power from the actual act of war itself, and is Wonder Woman’s most powerful foe.
Cheetah: Barbra Ann Minerva, was a talented but seriously arrogant archeologist who seemed more interested in becoming a b list celebrity and tv star then the actual work of being an archeologist and being the Dean of Archeological studies at Holiday college. When Wonder Woman, warned her that that her disrespect and hubris were dangerous, Barbara ignored her. She had contempt for Wonder Woman, who she saw as a far to perfect elitist, trying to tell others how to live their lives. But Wonder Woman’s words proved to ring true, and one of the totem deities that possessed one of the sites of Dr. Minerva’s digs took umbrage, with her hubris, cursing her for all eternity and turning her into a feline monster. Oddly enough being turned into a monstrosity gave Dr. Minerva all the media attention she always craved, but not in a good way. And adding to that problem is the growing feral urge welling up within her, that threatens to claim her intellect, which is the only bit of humanity she has left. Her struggle with her own nature, has caused her to resent Wonder Woman even more. She is Wonder Woman’s complete opposite, While Wonder Woman was blessed by the gods with her gifts, The Cheetah as Dr. Minerva has been mockingly dubbed by the media, was cursed by them.
Circe: From her magical castle, above the clouds, the all-powerful witch Circe, reigns down misfortune and horror on the world that she feels wronged her. This includes the Amazon’s, and the governments of “man’s world”. Using her extensive magic abilities and her legion of animal men, she has essentially declared war on earth itself.
Giganta: Since ancient times there have always been stories about giants. One of Wonder Woman’s most dangerous obstacles come in the form of a visitor from the mystical land of Giants. In this realm to which all giants were banished by the gods their existed numerous clans of giants, Jotuns, Fomorians, Nephilim, Anakim and Gigantes just to name a few. All of whom made constant war against each other. It was said that from the Gigantes tribe would eventually come one all-powerful giant ruler that would finally unify the giant tribes and reignite the Gigantomachy( war between giants and gods). But when the supposed child was born all hopes of reunion was dashed. It was a girl, and woefully undersized for a giant. The king of the Gigantes was so embarrassed by his child that he banished her from the realm, and threw her down into the human world. He though that the unfortunate child would not survive the fall, But he was wrong. The child would survive her decent and be discovered by a group of traveling entertainers wandering the countryside. In time the baby would become a child, though small by giant standards, she was large by human standards. The shiftless entertainers saw an opportunity to exploit the young girl’s inordinate size and strength, and soon began to parade her like a side show freak, calling her Giganta the world’s biggest girl.
Then adolescence hit, and the larger then average child discovered that she could now grow even larger, and could do it at will. Needless to say she took a bloody vengeance on her tormentor. It was this grizzly act that brought her to the attention, of both Wonder woman, and the Giants of Giant world. Diana knew that a giant in the human realm was a bad omen and could very well bring about conflict between the gods and giants. She took it upon herself to apprehend the giantess. And return her to the Giant World. The old King of the Gigantes was died, and Giganta was his only heir. Now she was the queen. A very angry, vindictive queen. First she took her advisers advice and began to uniformly absorb all the other giant clans. But when they told her to turn her attention towards the gods themselves she refused. In her mind she had a far more pressing vendetta to redress. Now Giganta the Unforgiving has turned her vengeful eye towards earth, and puny humans that tormented her for years.
Dr. Cyber: Needless to say some people aren’t too happy about gods and monsters returning to the human plain. Thus is the case with A.T.A, and the Cybernetic leader Dr. Cylvia Anita Cyber. The A.T.A is a violently antitheist extremist group that wants to rid the world of anything that claims to be of a Divine nature. Armed with extremely advanced Technology and a fanatical nature that mirrors the same fanatical theist that they claim to be fighting against, they are a global threat.
Veronica Cale: Veronica Cale is a founding partner (with her friend Leslie Anderson) in Cale-Anderson Pharmaceuticals. Shallow, materialistic but surprisingly good at marketing both herself and her company. She wanted hire Wonder woman as a spokesperson and model for her company’s line of cosmetics. She seemed friendly enough at first, at the time Diana was “fresh off the boat” as they say and had just left Themyscira for the first time. Eventually Diana would discover that behind the glitz and glamour, Cale’s companies all too often resorted exploiting workers in third world countries. Diana turned her back on the Cale-Anderson company and earned herself an enemy in Veronica Cale, who has made it her duty to deface the same individual she once used her media to glorify.

    Other more minor villain.
Dr. Psycho: Diminutive defiler of minds.
    Paula von Gunther: occultist Nazi.
The Angle man: a master criminal, who possesses an object known as an Angler which can alter objects and locations according to the holder's wishes, sometimes defying gravity or through teleportation.

@mathew101281. Dude, those are all awesome! I especially like Cheetah, Giganta and Dr. Cyber.

    Anyway, here's a few more.

    Washington D.C Setting
    - No Diana Prince I.D
    - Steve and A.R.G.U.S are present, with Steve resembling his characterization written by Johns in the JL books. Other members of A.R.G.U.S include Phil Darnell, Matthew Michaelis, I-Ching, Tim Trench, Keith Griggs and Patrick McGuire. Barbara Minerva works there as head of the Black Room, and she is replaced by Julia Kapatelis after she becomes the Cheetah.
    - Holliday College: Julia teaches there, and Etta Candy is the head of the Holliday Girl sorority house. It is comprised of college aged versions of Perez era characters (Vanessa, Eileen Flowers, Lucy Spears), Golden Age members (Eve Brown, Roberta Strong, Patsy Peters, Gel Ossey) and Steve's younger sister Tracy. Steve recruits Tracy and the girls to give Diana a place to stay when they first arrive in Man's World. She and Etta soon become best friends, and Etta eventually enlists in the military and is recruited by A.R.G.U.S.
    - Perez characters like Myndi Mayer, Ed Indelicato, Chrstine Fenton and others are all present, they just live in Washington D.C instead of Boston.

    Donna Troy
    - A mixture of pre-Crisis/post-Crisis origins. She's rescued from the burning building by Rhea, who takes her to the God Sphere, where time and space move differently. She raises Donna and other children as the Titan Seeds, and de-ages them to infants so they can grow into their divine power and knowledge naturally. She brings infant Donna to Paradise Island, where she is raised by Hippolyta. She leaves to become Wonder Girl shortly after Diana is established as Wonder Woman.

    I have two ideas:
Paradise Island is destroyed by an organization that serves the Titans. Hippolyta and the surviving Amazons on orders from Athena flee the island and settle in the outside world. The Queen and Artemis go to Philadelphia and try to blend in. The Queen then falls in love with a police officer and marries him. He is WW's father. 20 years later Diana is a 17 year old high school student who is sarcastic and short-tempered. Donna is about 12 and there is a boy AJ who is 8. On Diana's 18th birthday she gets in a argument with her father over her ditching the b-day plans to go a party over a boy she likes house. Her goes looking for and gets killed by a gang member wit hties to the group that destroyed PI. Diana blames herself and is later told that she an Amazon and is destined to restore PI and avenge the Amazons. Se is given her powers by the Gods Athena, Aphrodite, and Aries. She later meets Steve after she becomes Wonder Woman.

My other is that The Gods other than Athena and Aries were banished from Earth by the God of Abraham. Athena sided with him and Aries was just lucky to escape it. Aries then starts a secret society that is trying to arrange for the return of the Olympians. The Amazons who serve Athena oppose him.
In the modern times a mortal man is ship wrecked on Paradise Island and is cared for by Hippolyta. She falls in love with him and they marry. After 17 years of marriage, The Queen and Diana are kidnapped by Aries's forces, Diana is then subjected for experimentation. She is giving Cybernetic and mystical enhancements and her memory wipes. Aries, who is her grandfather, plans to use her as his general in his plans to bring back his kin. However Athena hacks into the lab and releases Diana. Diana then is found by Julia and Vanessa and then becomes Wonder Woman.

Basically my revamped version is the post-Crisis version with the following attributes given to the Amazons as part of their responsibilities regarding Doom' Door:

-Superior Physical Shape, every Amazon can lift a weight of 12 tons clear above her head, outpace even the finest human atheletes in a footrace and have increased resistance to injury, do weight a little more than their size would suggest.
-Immotality, live forever at their physical prime, but can be killed through war
-Unparalled when it comes to handling their weapons and tactics thanks to their long lives, includes members whose skills have no equal
-Are often equipped with magical items
-Have several dozen sisters that are magically attuned, often functioning as priestess for the various Olympians, most however are able to use their gifts in battle if needed
-Deeply conservative and protective of their way of life both in regards to faith, social and technological.
-Have a deep rooted sense of personal and collective honor
-Tech-like objects are the province of Io, unrivalled in creating items that mesh science and magic
-Like ancient Sparta, Hippolyta rules uncontested as queen, but is monitored by a council of the most senior Amazons that have the power to remove her if needed
-Paradise Island has well enough soil, hunting and fishing oppertunities that there is never shortage of food. From a distance the island cannot even be seen unless in the presence of an Amazon, if a ship would collide with the island it will be moved to the other side with noone onboard being the wiser.
-Paradise Island has an almost magnetic attraction on those shipwrecked in the immediate area, those that wash up alive on the shores are taken in and nursed back to health. Men and boys are then sent back with amnesia. Adult women are taught the Amazon ways of peace and harmony before they are sent back with amnesia, but remain changed by the encounter. Girls and teenagers are taken in, taught the Amazon ways before they take their place as a full sister of Themyscira.
