Default PREVIEW: All-New Captain America: Fear Him, #1

    • A hungry villain has returned to feed on the city's fear.
    • It's up to the All New Captain America and Nomad to curb his appetite... Which might be easier if they weren't always at each other's throats.

So, is this a flashback to before the current storyline in the main Captain America title, or a spoiler for Ian being okay after all? Kind of has to be one or the other.

I think this was actually released digitally before the current Cap title came out so it would have taken place before the current events.

Yeah, this was a guided-view "Infinite Comic" release that's being translated to print.

Here's an article about it from last year's SDCC.

"the story bridges the gap between Sam Wilson picking up the shield in "Captain America" #25 and the debut of "All-New Captain America" #1 and will be drawn by Szymon Kudranski"

Bit surreal that there's a Scarecrow in the Marvel Universe, though I'm not sure how similar he is to the DC version.

Wait! Wasn't the MU Scarecrow basically a good guy? A fear demon who feeds only on the fear of people watching horror shows?

Don't really know anything about him, first time I realised that there was a Marvel Scarecrow was when he cameoed in the Fear Itself: Wolverine mini. I figured Mr Fear was Scarecrow's counterpart.

That's the Straw Man. Scarecrow is basically a sideshow contortionist who gained the ability to send a pheromone into the air, which increases his own speed, strength, healing, etc., and cause increased fear and panic in others. Originally an Iron Man villain.

Marvel Scarecrow got a extreme supernatural upgrade when he became a ghost rider villain, he basically became a fear demon.
