DC Holiday Special #1: Uh, what happened to the Max Landis/Francis Manapul short?
Superman #36: It was a good issue, but it felt a little rushed. Granny and Kalibak's defeats and the resolution to the throne of Apokolips (which I enjoyed quite a bit) happened in the space of about 10 pages. Lex's resolution at the end needed more space to breath, as well. Gotta give it to Mahnke, tho, he made the most of it worked in the short space of a single issue.
Batman #36: Pretty good issue. I wasn't a fan of all the dialogues, but I think the voices sounded about right. There isn't much happening in it, but it just felt right, a really character issue. The real star here, though, it's Clay Mann's art. What a fantastic artist, both for the figures and the storytelling. It's a shame he didn't land at the Superman offices after his wonderful job on the Action Comics covers.
