This is one of the scenes where everything changed for Clark and Lois. First: Clark sees Lana's picture and his smile is the smile of a man that treasures the good memories they had, he hopes Lana finds peace and happiness she needs. Then: he stops her punch, as a clear signal that he's moving on and wants more than friendship with Lois:
