As you're all aware, there have been a few significant changes to the CBR forums.

So here's the place to ask any questions. Although I'll address a few points that I'm sure people will ask about.

You'll have to reregister in order to post. So your post number will go back to zero at first.

The off-topic threads weren't the most active on the Spider-Man board, but it's been decided that for now we'll go without chat threads as a general CBR community policy.

At least one poster in the new board seems to have been banned previously. The policy is that everyone gets a fresh start, including those who were previously banned. But the days of multiple warnings and multiple temp bans are also gone.

The subject matter is fine.

So "Amazing Spider-Man #1" for the comic. "The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Movie" for the film (but don't start that one until Midnight Eastern Time tomorrow night.)

But if no multiple warnings, then is there a permanent ban after one warning? No 3 strikes and you're out?

I know it's only a few days but things here seem not only very sanitized but very quiet….almost like a morgue. And this is coming from a long-time poster that didn't engage in many snarkfests, let alone arguments. I hope to see more of the "old crowd" back here and some healthy discussions again because, right now, this is dullsville.

I think the changes are good. I think the entire comics community, not just here but everywhere, really needs to take a look at ourselves when a woman's bank account is nearly hacked because of a critique on a comic book cover. Too few us are standing up and telling people it is wrong to treat people this way.

The board may be slow for a while but it's worth it.

Oh, I don't disagree with that. I am just concerned about overcompensating and losing good, regular posters who never crossed the line before as a result of this. Hopefully some users are just slow to sign back up and haven't abandoned the site.

Thats correct. Its important that you understand that if you cant say what you are going to say in a civil, non-insulting way... that you should just let it go. Its also important for everyone to use the report post feature for anything that violates the rules instead of retaliating.
