Sam and Cat did an episode with a lot of Silence references - the row of cells, the pit in the basement, 'it puts the lotion on,' the last phone call from the Hannibal character -the whole nine yards. Now how many of the kids who are that show's target audience will have seen the movie? Or is it that big a part of the culture?

Schneider and crew have had a bad couple of years. The last year of iCarly and Victorious were each like that, too. Heck, Sam and Cat has an "elderly" who seems to only be around to make references kids wouldn't get and then be told that no one gets it. That kind of thing AND a heavy "film parody" influence (that Dan doesn't seem to get. Better than Seltzer and Friedberg, but just barely) just make it all seem so lazy. I'm thinkin' his glory days are behind him.
