your's is just tacky.
Hi Matt & Bret
What have I always believed?
That, on the whole, and by and large, if a man lived properly, not according to what any priests said, but according to what seemed decent and honest inside, then it would, in the end, more or less, turn out all right.
I looked it up on wikipedia. Big ship. Going by displacement, it's more than twice as big as the Eagle. The USCGC Eagle was the training vessel I sailed back in the 80's. Great experience.
I know it's an earlier ship (though still afloat!) but I've always had a hankering to have a look round the USS constitution, though this would involve going to Boston obviously. Eagle looks a lovely ship, but I can imagine you had to work pretty hard aboard her, that link doesn't work though, the wikipedia says she was german first, nazi flag and everything.

'Authorities say the phony Pope can be recognized by his high-top sneakers and incredibly foul mouth.'
Yeah, it was a WW2 "war prize" seized by the U.S. So it was a Nazi training ship first.
I wonder if this one works:

So we are going away NEXT weekend with the in-laws.
They just texted and are on their way up here today...
We had to memorize the entire pin rack for every mast. It's actually not that hard since there is logic to the arrangement (an it's "lines" not "rope" )
I remember a very satisfying feeling of changing course during the mid-watch from a starboard tack to a port tack. We had a watch called the "ready-boat crew" that tended the sails 24-7 and was only about a dozen or so cadets.
The 30th reunion of my class is this year ('84 sir!) so I may scan some pics for that event. If I do, I'll post them if you're interested.
Thanks Michael. I will think about it. Since it is a new Ritas, maybe new avatar will do.
Good Lord. Jared did not listen to his own advise.
YEP!
Maybe you should ban them, that seems to be the in thing today.
Have two pissed off kitties Puma, it was vet day today, shots and exams, they are not happy and let it be known very loudly all the way there and back.
Yeah, I would be actually, I've always had a fascination with the sea and all things nautical, Patrick O'Brien exacerbated that.
Interesting, I admit I do desire the stemmed open-topped classic design, swirl it around, I'm sure it's merely an affectation.

IKEA has a variety of wine and alcohol vessels at reasonable prices.
I feel like there's an appropriate song for the rise and fall of Rita's, but I'm drawing a blank, as usual.
