I liked this scene of Simon from Uncanny Avengers #9 (I believe).

Again, I think Simon would be great as a closer friend to Steve Rogers.

While that would make sense (and I'd love it!) I don't see how Simon would fit into the type of story that King is telling. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Pretty much. She absorbed Simon's powers/consciousness to beat the Apocalypse Twins in Remender's Uncanny Avengers.

To my knowledge, no. But I don't read the current run of Uncanny Avengers (which is where Rogue is still hanging out).

I was under the impression Simon's consciousness has since been purged from Anna Marie's mind.

I hope so.I know they were on the same Avengers time together but it's not as if they were close friends or had any real connection when they were team mates. Plus she gets his powers but what does he get out of it?
