Unless I missed something, you do know that it's Kieron Gillen and Marguerite Bennett who are the writers of Angela, don't you? :P

Yes because a very absurdly sexualized, metal bikini for fanboys to jerk off to makes for a great character design. Not to mention, MacFarlane's all talk and no show, better to give Angela to Marvel. She's at least being written by people who can write.

I confuse Gillen and Fraction all the time, but meant to say Gillen. He does more music references than Fraction, especially with Phonogram.

What are Angela's basic abilities and what are her "special" powers? Like Thor has the weather control..

She's weaker than Thor, but incredibly faster

She's got really really good regeneration.

I'm really enjoying A:AA, though sometimes the split between what's happening now and the flashbacks can be really jarring. I still laugh a lot at sera taking the time to wax poetic about Angela's past to the little girl with the ball.

She doesn't really have actual powers per say, she's more of an Asgardian Gamora then anything else.

These kinds of "insults" are kind of perplexing to me. What if someone actually does not look at this as sexually gratifying? What if someone isn't jerking off to this design? Or, better yet, what if some fanboys are jerking off to this costume? How does that affect you reading about the character? Why would someone want a fanboy to stop jerking off to comic book characters? Is jerking off to a "real person" (let's say a picture of a real female or porn) somehow more dignified?

It basically gives me the impression that certain comic book fans have poor priorities in mind.

Is it meant to represent her enmity for her Asgardian origins? She wants to kill Asgard? I can't imagine that she will be an Assassin on BEHALF of Asgard...
This answer is a bit late, but I figure, especially gien the information we're provided with this arc. That Angela is effectively Asgard's sweeper. She's taking up the mantle that the angels of heven had been described to have in Original Sin: Thor & Loki

She kils those that Asgard proper are unwilling to for various political and social reasons.

    After all

At best she's damning her baby sister to be a reactor for heven. At worst she's going to kill the little Surtur spawn

One quip I have about the recent comics is that I am not really on board with this new Baby Odinsdottir because of the fact I believe Freyja and Odin are really should at this time be out of their child rearing age. Not to mention I think this baby feels like a cheap plot device. It also looks like a poor attempt at trying to make 1,000 year old immortals look younger than they are. I just really don't like this baby to be honest. If I want to be honest I wish this new spawn would fade out of existence and be forgotten.

Any fans of the current book who's going to pick up 1602? And, if so, what about it are you looking forward to?

Personally, I'm a fan of the original 1602 by Gaiman so it's gonna be fun just to revisit that part of the MU (only, this time with the ass kicking Angela). Also, everytime I think about reading about the 1602 version of Rocket I think about the fox scene in Men in Tights.

In getting 1602 mainly for the art. Majority of it will be Stephanie Hans, who did the 5 page flashback tales and now will be on the main story. Just beautiful artwork. Also the setting for 1602 is fun as is the premise. Looking forward to this the most out of the Secret War books.
