Default The reason why I respect the women of the Batfamily

Why the females of the Batfamily seem eager at the idea of dressing like giant bats and bearing the Bat logo on their chests unlike the males. Any comic explanations as to why ?

Because the men started off as Robin, and the women were created to be female versions of Batman to appeal to female demographics.

Batman is also the only male with "Bat" in the name. Red Hood sports a bright red symbol on his chest.

Yeah I know of that. But I need in universe/comic book explanations.

Does Jason still have a red-bat on his chest? I haven't been following RHatO.

The pic is misleading as there's never been more than one Batgirl at any one time, not too mention

Stephanie Brown, formerly and now again Spoiler
    Barbara Gordon, formerly Oracle
    Bette Kane, now Hawkfire
    Helena Bertinell, Huntress
    Harper Row, Bluebird

Batman initially only recruited Dick Grayson, who became a sidekick and called himself "Robin" while there were women who got inspired by Batman on their own and took the names "Batwoman" and "Batgirl" as a tribute. Eventually, these titles got legacies, with other women independently taking up the Bat - Woman and Girl mantles, while every new recruit of Batman's became a new Robin. The reasons for the names weren't completely about gender though, since there was a female Robin. Once she was no longer Robin, she became a solo hero and took up the Batgirl mantle. There hasn't really been a solo male hero inspired by Batman who came up with a superhero name and began a superhero career on his own. The closest was Tim Drake, who just decided to take up the Robin mantle until he officially became a sidekick.

So yeah, the explanation has to do with inspiration, tribute, and later legacy.

Maybe Bruce told the boys that HE is the only one who gets to wear bats on his chest and the women said, "We'll wear whatever we PLEASE. Deal with it, Mr. Man."

Cassandra Cain is the only female member of the Bat family who wants to be Batman. Not Batwoman, BatMAN. She respects the mantle and doesn't care about the gender associated with it. Very admirable and such an incredible character shame on DC for not bringing her back yet.
