When it comes down to it, Doctor Octopus is my favorite Spider-Man villain. Otto is the perfect antithesis to Peter, he is the embodiment of everything Peter would be if Peter hadn't adapted towards "the great power comes great responsibility", ideology.

Dr. Octopus. Awesome power-set, looks awesome, personality depends on who's writing him, but I really liked Alfred Molina's portrayal, so Doc Ock comes out on top!

I am really surprised that Venom has more votes then Goblin so far since virtually everyone on these forums seemed to hate the symbiotes. I was beginning to think that I was the only one loving them lol

In my book Carnage will always be cooler than Venom though. He is just so wonderfully deranged and psychotic and has none of that pesky morality that holds Venom back. In a way Carnage is like the Joker of the Spideyverse. I just love villains like that who have no boundaries and are evil to the core. I also love the more tragic villains but in todays world where almost every villain needs to have a more tragic and human side apparently, these purely irredeemable psychotic, brutal villains are a world of fun to me. Plus Carnage basically can do everything Spidey and Venom can do, only he is stronger. I hope we will get to see him onscreen one day - but without some tragic elements or human side please. I want nasty, evil Carnage in all his glory.

From that list, I'd choose Venom, but I really like Mysterio. I think if they gave him a more streamlined looking costume, it would be a very cool re-birth for the character.

It's hard to pick just 1. I agree that Spidey's Rogue's Gallery is as good as anyone in comic books. My top 5 would be in order:

Got nothing but love for Spider-Man's rogue gallery (although not a big fan of the symbiotes anymore--I was when I was a kid). But hands down do I love the Hobgoblin. The guy got like what 5 guys to take the fall for him before he was ultimately revealed as the original?

I do like that Daredevil has probably the worst rogues gallery ever and he knows it.

Then, Perhaps, Marvel should transfer some of Spider-Man's rogue galleries unto Daredevil, Jessica Drew, and Black Widow's rogue galleries respectively, no?

But Carnage should be part of Psylocke's rogue galleries.

In turn, The Abomination, Deathstrike, Mystique, The Blob, Titania, Man-Killer, and Nimrod should be part of Spider-Man's rogue gallery.

I wish they had done more with the young Carlyle-Ock. I'm not sure how well received he was but I thought he was an interesting character, and seeing the original Doc rise up to challenge him like that really started me on the path to liking Otto.
