Default Best (canon) X-Men lineup's to date

We've talked about top 6, favorites, best leader, but what are your top 3 favorite X-Men teams to date? From AoA Astonishing X-Men to Cyclops' X-tinction Squad, what do you think were the best X-Men teams?

No real criteria; power, popularity, synergy, nostalgia, whatever. They only have had to exist in the books at some point for a page or a decade. Has to be canon.

    Since I'm a 90s guy, grew up reading and loving it. My list will probably come that era or little beyond;

X-Men Blue Team: Cyclops, Wolverine, Gambit, Rogue, Psylocke and Beast. W/Jubilee guest starring.

X-treme X-Men: Rogue, Storm, Psylocke, Thunderbird(Neal), Beast, Lifeguard, Sage and Gambit (even with Psylocke and Beast exiting the team at the same time, due to injury and uh... Death)

70s Uncanny, replacements, introduced so many new characters that are still population today: Storm, Nightcrawler, Colossus, Thunderbird (Proudstar) and Banshee... Might be missing someone.

This a difficult one - I'm going purely by what I liked.

Generation X (Perfect marriage of personality, action and art)
    X-Men 90s (Blue Team) (Because...)
    Excalibur (Just crazy fun)

Honorable mentions: X-Men 90s (Gold Team) and the team of Wolvie, Psylocke and Jubes - the Madripoor year.

Missing someone? Nah, that's all the important mutants...

That's an 80s lineup, right? Around the time the famous "Professor Xavier is a jerk!" Kitty splash page came about right?

Oooh, your brought up Geb-X and the classic Excalibur teams. Make me want to throw in the original X-Factor team aka adult Original 5 X-Men... Though the 2nd gen X-Factor team was fairly cool in its own right.

Gen-X had a freshness that came with following The Phalanx Covenant that I hadn't seen since X-cutioner's Song. Synch, Skin, Chamber, Husk, Jubes, Penance, M, Mondo, Banshee and Emma. It was a fun group despite the drama and life/death situations.

Correct. I like a small team lineup where everyone's powers are unique to the others. It gives everyone a role on the team without having to downplay one character's powers to play up another's in the group. Also, its great for character development when you don't have a thousand characters vying for attention.

Not only that, this is a great mix of powers and personality.

I agree with you sooo much on all of this.

There have been so many good X-Men line-ups that I don't know if I could really answer this question...

Obviously, I like Generation X and the '90s teams (especially Gold team), but there really needs to be a mention of the Outback team, too!

    My top 3 lineups...

I've always had a soft spot for X-Factor. Any team with Cyclops and Jean Grey and Archangel gets my love.

    Generation X comes very close.

...and I really loved it in the 90s when the Blue/Gold teams merged back into one amorphous blob of X-Men. Now my favourites weren't separated!

Honourable mention...The circa-Uncanny 275 team is also awesome.
