Okay I got a Silver Age question:

Why did Supes engage in multiple female relationships with three and more women? Social conservatism is rampant throughout the era, but his actions surrounding these women...Its the premise of Archie as well, but its not limited to men! Supergirl had tons of boy toys as did Lois Lane. One common storyline for all these characters is they encounter a new person and within a few panels they are in love only to be broken up a few panels later!

Cap'n Kirk did the same thing. I guess kinda like now, they didn't want to tie their heroes down. There wasn't even a married superhero until the Silver Age Hawkman and Hawkgirl were introduced in 1961.

My all time favorite Superman cover:

With Holmes back maybe the Batman forums will be as interesting as they were before.

But yeah, it's nice to have you back.

Haha, I've almost completely forgotten about those posts.

But yes, I'm the same person (I also had another account). My posts aren't really that similar anymore. Then again, I probably indirectly destroy the old forums with my "is God real?" thread...

I've been going through my back issues and trying to fill in the missing parts of Maggin's run. Though I quite love my back issue collection for Supes and I have the issue that Mr. Mastermind put in the first post (which is a great read). Hmmm, I have some free time this weekend and this thread makes me want to pour through my old books. Looks like I'll be doing quite a bit of back issue reading.

Here's the first Superman comic I bought with my own money:

I couldn't even read at the time so I just followed the pictures.

Is that the same The Beast who said he thought the Reeve Superman movies sucked and loved MoS?

That's cool. Most stores don't have back issues going all the way back to the 60s and 70s.
Hope is not lost today. It is found.

Can we edit the title to "Classic Superman Comics", please? Because the current one makes no sense when you cut the "thread" out and I can't tolerate that as I'm a grammar Nazi.

    Thanks in advance.
