With Slott moving to Iron Man, the possibility of Al Ewing writing the FF when they return rises. He'd be perfect for the team.

Even Marvel Thought That the 1990s Fantastic Four Cartoon Was Lame

In Meta-Messages, I explore the context behind (using reader danjack’s term) “meta-messages.” A meta-message is where a comic book creator comments on/references the work of another comic book/comic book creator (or sometimes even themselves) in their comic. Each time around, I’ll give you the context behind one such “meta-message.” This time around, we look at a time that Marvel made fun of their own cartoon series.

Probably the only notable FF moment from the 90's reflected this sentiment.
Hey, say what some will about the 90s cartoon, but you'll never see another Marvel 'toon strip Sue Richards down to her underwear like in the two-part premiere of that show.
To be fair the 90's show was revamped in the second season and was pretty great IMO the best FF put to film to date taking stories from the Lee/Kirby and Bryne eras.

Yes! Ewing can write the big sci-fi stuff so well. He's the perfect choice for me too.
Nick Spencer and Donny Cates would also make me happy.

I hit the wrong button, I meant to tag your comment where you recommended Ewing for FF writer. I agree totally.
Ewing killed it on the Ultimates. That book nearly filled the void that the FF has left.
I'd love to see a resurgence of sci-fi books at Marvel, headed by the FF and accompanied by a darker, more sci-fi GOTG (by someone like Spurrier), Thanos, a more traditional Silver Surfer book, and a return of Warlock and the Infinity Watch. Get the FF away from the New York superhero scene and let Ewing just go crazy.
