Dunno but I do recall sometime ago the reverse, a DC-related ad in a Marvel comic.

I just had a thought over the weekend. What if the Liberteens turned Fantastix is a fake-out? What if they're impostors? Or even Skrulls? (Which I doubt, since the Revolutionary was exposed as a Skrull.)

What I'd like to know is how the heck they could afford the Baxter Building in the Parker Industries liquidation sale. And Johnny couldn't just pay more than they paid to get it back, so they must've paid a pretty penny!

I think it was already gone by the time he got his money. Can't buy what's not for sale.

I knew that the Baxter Building wouldn't be in the Spider-Man PS4 game (which is a great game BTW), but I'm still disappointed.

I hope that this petty ban is finally over.

    EDIT: Came across this lol

    FF #2 recap

Love the book, love the villain, love the wrap around variant cover I got!

Don't love what they have been doing. Seemed like an old version of the twilight zone with the little boy and the corn field. Some kids just have too much power.

For that reason, only 3 out of 5 stars.

I don't blame Slott for that, it was what they were left doing at the end of Secret Wars. He had to tackle that.

Happy that they got rid of one aspect of Franklin's powers, but still want him nerfed more. Don't want him to take away focus and reduce threats to the team. The Griever is powerful enough to get rid of the Franklin card, but not every villain will be that powerful. Plus, just look at how many are needed to take her on. Something has got be done with Franklin and the power of the main Fantastic Four members.

After seeing Dr. Strange go from "wills you out of existence" to stage magician in Last Days of Magic , no thank you.

There are a few ways to get around the Franklin problem without completely depowering him:
    • Make his powers rely on a gestures: He'll keep his nigh-omnipotence, but he'll need to rely of a psychosomatic weakness in order to operate. That way, you can have villains do what everyone tried to do to Thanos in Infinity War to stop him from using the Gauntlet.
    • Go the Dr. Strange route: Have him fight cosmic abominations the like of Shuma-Gorath and make his reality warping a necessity to fight monsters like these.
    • Write him out: This is not one that should be used often, but I want to see Franklin develop friend circles outside of the Baxter Building. Say Franklin's off with the X-Men or Power Pack and can't be reached. After all, all powerful doesn't mean omnipresent.

With issue #2 out I finally received my copy of issue #1.
Read it. Took it to the basement. Put it in a long box. Probably never to be seen again.
This relaunch just isn't for me.

I don't mind if Franklin is nerfed down something serious. I don't think he was ever created with the intention of BEING that powerful. By that I mean for decades he was a plot device and a problem to solve. His power was revealed with the intent that Reed would Nerf him down to a reasonable level. Every time he's gotten his powers back to full... he's almost immediately given a mental block or dampener or SOMETHING...

I don't think he was written that way with the idea of him EVER growing up and harnessing his full power... Nor was he ever intended to become a full fledged member of the team. He's the ticking time bomb that they need to protect the world from their son. and their son from the world...

So yeah, if they insist on aging him beyond original parameters and making him more functional on the team... I have zero issue with him being reigned in somewhere and somehow.

I see him in a whole separate category as Doctor Strange SORCERER SUPREME... or even MASTER OF THE MYSTIC ARTS as he started... he's MEANT to be all power. (though frankly I consider him too powerful for a monthly book... I LOVE when he guest stars)

I am still shocked that his parents played along with his "made up universes". It was like they were scared of him? I don't get it. Maybe I have not read enough about Franklin or the Future Foundation, but I just think that is way too much power; it was just ridiculous. His parents playing along just made it more ridiculous, and on the verge of scary.

Honestly, I think they've accepted their son at this point. The kid literally rebuilt the cosmos when Abraxas destroyed it all and this was before he learned long division. Personally, I think Reed and Sue would be more scared of the girls he'd date because his kids end up trying to take over the multiverse.

Decades ago it was beyond obvious that Sue needed a power up to make team balance more sensible...so it was done.

For last 20 years it’s been beyond obvious that Ben and Johnny need power and skill upgrades, and that Reed/ Franklin need toning down.

But really nothing has been done.

I think that’s largely down to difference between pioneering days of Marvel, when really radical character change was regularly undertaken, to today when radical long lasting change to the main icons is off limits.

It really is petty. Perlmutter’s already rich. This just hurts the consumer. Still, would love to see Insomniac tackle a F4 game. Laura Bailey’s my pick for Sue.
