The tattered-seeming cape is weird at first but it grows on you, I feel like it represents a certain view on the character, a bit rougher around the edges

Very nice to see. Some fans loved it and some hated it, but much like the era for the character it got a lot of discussion going and still does over a decade later which I personally regard as a good thing. Nothing hurts a character quite like fans having no strong views about them.

It's always bothered me how much that costume was ripped off form Capcom's Morrigan, even the weird head thingies...

The artist for the first version Kia Asamiya clearly got some ideas there. The script for Lorna in those issues which were altered as part of a major realignment in plans for Lorna occurred after New X-Men 132 when she was helped by Jean and the rest after the Genoshan genocide. I suspect the outfit was a late in the game change as well. The version of the costume with the head piece didn't last very long as in 2 or 3 issues, until it went though a major overhaul and stayed that way by in large until 2006.

Companies barrow ideas from each other all the time. DC's the Emerald Empress a bad assed female green royal political character came out in 1967 and Lorna was most certainly Marvel's response a year later. Magneto was Marvel's response to DC's Doctor Polaris.

That would have certainly been nice. She made the in game background for Asteroid M in MvC, but that was it.



When Legends 2 came out she was an off panel character captured by Poccy like Quicksilver, though she had some nice concept art.



The first playable Lorna was Marvel Legos and after she appeared in a mobile game based on DoFP, then the x-ban went into effect.

I'm hoping Magneto has an ax to grind with Emma because of IvX, and not something that happens to Lorna.

I think its far bigger then IvX.

If new Blue team is behind her as it appears that 'old Blue team' is in the preview art I can't see Magneto coming for her head unless something else happens. If new Blue team is wiped out or she does something else big after working with new Blue team then the solicits make more sense.

DO NOT USE LORNA AS A TOOL TO GIVE MAGNETO MANPAIN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But if they're keeping Emma Frost as a redeemed more heroic version since she ends up being guarded or something by neo O5, and if she was already working with LornaBLUE, then I doubt Emma Frost did anything bad to Polaris
