No mention of Avi Arad in the press release.
I bet the guy is going full supervillain now.

A re-cast needed to happen before the first movie was even completed. Andrew Garfield is a 31 year old man playing a kid who just graduated from High School. No way do I believe that for a minute. Sony should have cast Garfield as College-age Spidey, that would have been way more believable.
By "we" you, the OP, and probably a few others, but I, and the non comic reason movie going public probably aren't. So "we" is used pretty loosely.
DC, sure, but that's still a largely unknown entity. And from what I've heard, they're not on the best track plan wise, so competition is still uncertain. I don't care much for the MCU, but theyre movies people seem to like.
Wow, I didn't expect this to ever materialize. Still wary about Sony "retaining final creative control", but I'll be happy to see Spider-Man join the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

One thing I absolutely DO NOT want is Spidey on the Avengers. He's NEVER worked in that role.
so is Garfield out? is AS3 and Sinister Six canceled?
