Just ordered the first volume today. I can't believe this series slipped past me when I was a kid considering how JLA obsessed I was.

The only issue of the series that I know I've read is the incredibly touching, 1,000,000 issue. If the rest of the series is half as good as that issue I'll be kicking myself for just starting to read it know.

The sad part is that the 1000000 issue isn't included in the first tpb, even though it is referred to a few times by Kyle Raynor. I think that was a mistake.

One of the things that I've appreciated about J'Onn is that while he is often said to be the most 'alien' member of the JLA, he's actually it's most humane member, something that those scans dupersuper posted depcit wonderfully. He's kind and open and truly cares for his comrades. One of the things that Ostrander added to the MM mythos was the concept that the duality obsessed Martian culture required everyone to study two disciplines in order to be a well rounded being. J'Onn, obviously, chose to be a Manhunter, but he is also a philosopher. I think the best J'Onn stories show that philosphical side, and that's what's been missing over the past decade or so.

I read Mark Waid's run on the Justice League 10 years ago, and then other comics from the 2000s, don't remember J'onn eating Oreo
