I don't believe Kirkman, or any writer for that matter, has anything to do with the solicitations in the previews.

I know it's been explained to you already, but it's a joke. Kirkman is riffing on the concept of all of the relaunched titles and false "new direction" hype that Marvel & DC do ad nauseum. It's a gag. And it appears to have gone over your head a bit.

Kirkman has been "pushing it" since the beginning. It all seemed like a happy little book and then BLAM - the original Guardians got brutally murdered. It's just been ramping up higher and higher since then.

Not sure how much gorier this book can get now, haha.

Seriously, anyone suprised by the level or violence and gore... haven't been paying much attention for the last... 105 issues or so.
