Rachel: mentally controlled by everything but The Phoenix.
Rachel: mentally controlled by everything but The Phoenix.
Rachel has some control issues. My headcanon is that some of the hound programming just never really went away.
Polaris also recently broke and killed the new Malice, showing her mental shields and willpower have grown over the years.
Rachel was written as pretty kick ass for the most part, until Guggenheim more or less decided to throw everyone else on the team under the bus to make Kitty look great.
That wasn't the new Malice if memory serves that was the Ultimate version of Malice, not the 616 one...in other words a much weaker version of Malice...
Remember when the Shadow King mind controlled Kitty and Rachel by putting them in skimpier and skimpier bondage gear? Oh, Chris...
With CC does it really matter...though you know what they say, without showing the panel(s) it didn't happen...
It's from New Excalibur. The Shadow King was mind-controlling a parallel universe Xavier.

There's no proof she was much weaker. She was disoriented by being in a new world and working for Miss Sinister, but her powers worked the same as the original Malice. And Polaris fought off her mind control. Give female characters credit for growth and power, and especially give them credit for things beyond having boyfriends.
Lorna now has resistance to mind control, where's previously she hadn't shown that. In recent years she has shown to be a powerful as her father, who can resist mind control. And now we know Lorna can too.
Lorna herself said that Malice wasnt as strong as the original. She credited her being able to overcome her bc she was weakened and confused.
Really? Lord have mercy. I didnt know she was possessed by yet another character. Dang, Rachel had it bad
After the Red subplot is resolved, anyone want to see Rachel train with Jean to increase her telepathic resistance? She unfortunately has canonically been way too vulnerable over the years
