It would be interesting and strange if young Franklin was called in to help and then he sees his other earth/older version in Rachel's mind. Yet this could make for an interesting story if done correctly.

I say "done correctly" meaning a good story, a story told so the audience knows what is happening with good artwork at a pace that works.

I am not the biggest fan of X-Men Gold, but I really enjoyed the Rachel parts of this issue...quite a bit actually. Finally showing her power.

I hate to say it but I think the cape IS growing on me. It's been drawn longer in the last few issues (or to my eyes it looks that way) and I think that helps. A bit.
Rachel still needs to ditch the not-mask though.
